I thought it was a foregone conclusion. His is a name I have been seeing regularly in draft circles ranking in the mid-1st round.

I wish I had had the chance to see him play the other night. Any insight? Did you or anyone else see him play against GT the other night?
 
I was paying attention to Bulaga the other night and he looked good. The times he lined up against Derrick Morgan, the stud DE from GT, he accounted himself well. He did get ridden back close to the QB on one play, but the QB was able to get the ball out and complete the pass.

He was very strong in the running game and got to the 2nd level at least once to spring a big gain.
 
So more or less, there are a few pretty good options at OT so if we could trade back, it would be smart to do so and aim for another tackle in the mid 1st.

Trade with Seattle maybe?

What is Seattle looking for that could warrant a trade to the 4 spot?
 
Hasselbeck looks like he is done. They need a QB.

My point was less about Seneca Wallace being the answer to their QB issues as Seattle being a trade partner for a QB. I don't think they're so desperate to get rid of a capable veteran like Hasselback with a decent backup to fill in if he goes down that they would trade picks that they need to address other concerns to pick up a QB in this draft.

I just don't see Clausen or Bradford worth that much for them to trade.
 
San Fran needs a QB, and they have 2 firsts, 13 & 17.

Let's hope they want to move up.

I would trade a #4 pick for a #13 and #17. We would probably owe them a little bit more but that is alright.

I was thinking more that, since San Fran had two 1's, that they might swap one of their 1's, and then give us their 2nd rounder.
 
Did I get to greedy? Sorry about that... I took a look at the NFL Draft Value Chart and our #4 pick is worth 1800 pts and the 13th round pick is worth 1150 plus there 2nd round pick #49 is worth 410 and there 3rd round pick is worth 195 that would be pretty dang close. I would go along with that.

A left tackle is the one position that no one needs to trade up for. Like I have said, there are 6 OT's projected in the 1st round of this draft and the only one who seems to be better than the rest is not that far advanced.

Anthony Davis
Trent Williams
Charles Brown

That is 6 Offensive Tackles projected in the 1st round. No way anybody trades up for one, there is no need to waste picks. Okung is not that much better than the other 2 who are projected in the top 10, Campbell and Davis.

As far as QB, I know Seneca Wallace is not their answer, but Hasselback is not done and I don't see anyone trading up for a QB unless Jimmy Claussen is there. It looks like Claussen will be gone. Bradford and his injuries are not worth it.

The only players another team will trade up to our position in this draft are Suh and Berry. Suh won't be there - Berry might be a target.
 
I watched the OSU/Ole Miss game the other night and focused only on Okung.

It's hard to say what a player will be like by just watching 1 game, however I will say that I was impressed.

It's clear cut he's an elite pass blocker and kind of reminds me of a more athletic Chris Samuels based on his height and frame.

My only concerns was on his leverage, his run blocking (good but not nearly on the level of his pass pro) and his blocking in space (screen plays).

I'll have more on him soon......
 
Updated to reflect positions 21 through 24, occupied by the losers from the Wildcard games.
 
I feel better going into this draft with Allen running the show. Don't have a problem with getting Jarmon in supplemental draft last year.
 
Neither do I. Kiper or McShay (can't remember which) said that if Jarmon would have come back for his senior year and had the same kind of production as he had previously that he might have been a 2nd round pick. We might have got a deal there.
