    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I am assuming you are talking about Sonny and not his brother Lorenzo who is a safety and is a draft prospect likely to get drafted on day 3. In 2023 as a safety, Sonny had a 76 PFF grade playing around 550 snaps as a safety. So he played well there.

I think Styles had a great season. Just a one season sample size and in pretty ideal circumstances, but his play was excellent. He was rising up boards even before the combine.

Interesting you think safety not corner. That mirrors what Cory and James from DaftonDraft say. Great player, but better when the play is in front and he can play downhill. When he covering routes behind him like a corner or playing man, he is not as dynamic of a player. Therefore they...

    Trade down hypotheticals

I still have hope for McCaffrey and Lane, but I would probably prefer an outside receiver. I think there is still a reasonable shot one of them ends up a solid number 3 receiver who can give you around 500 yards per season. But neither of them as proven they are a solid 3 yet.

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 2

I think he is an outside receiver. The impression I got from the daftondraft guys is that he mainly played outside but he got a lot of free releases because he intimidated a lot of the FCS DB's cause he is 6'4 and with 4.42 speed. That combo in the FCS is like Randy Moss. So DB's wanted to...

    Trade down hypotheticals

To me just take the best player at a need position. You get a good guard like Fano or Ioane and we can really run the ball, open up playaction. Our interior is a little ify with both that LG and C spots having some questions. But I am taking the O-Line on the assumption you are getting a...

    Trade down hypotheticals

In a lot of these trade downs to like 13, 14, or 16 I end up with an O-Lineman. I think Fano who can be a T, G, or C and Ioane who is a Guard are pretty good prospects and often best available in the middle of the first round in trade back scenarios. I would be fine taking an O-Lineman in a...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 2

I think this class is deepr, but you are still looking at about the same quality in the third round. Last year 7 WRs went into the first two rounds. I am guessing 10 or 11 do this year, but it creates a situation where even though this class is a bit deeper, the quality in the third round is...

I do agree with that. Though I love the player so I would still be okay with taking Downs at 7. But low position premium and a deep safety class do make me think that is not the ideal option. Would love to get Downs in a trade down to 11, 12, or 13. To me that would be a win--taking him at...

    Trade down hypotheticals

I totally hear you. The Quality over Quantity argument is usually king. But my willingness to move back is based on the specific flavor of this 2026 class. To me, there are only three true Blue Chippers here: Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs, and Jeremiyah Love. They are elite prospects--think Roquan...

    Trade down hypotheticals

    1. The "Divisional Tax" Move: Dallas Cowboys The Trade: 7 for 12 (347), 92 (40), and 2027 3rd (~45 with discount). Total Value Received: 432 pts (Net Gain: +6) The Logic: This is a fair-value swap. It’s a slight win on paper, but you're helping a rival. Their Target: Dallas is desperate for an...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Trevor Sikkema was part of the firings at PFF yesterday. It definitely feels like PFF is leaning away from public facing side of the business and into the team focus side of the business.

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

For Cleveland its either Tackle or Receiver (Dawand Jones and Tytus Howard are their current projecting starters--Jones is probably not a starting caliber player). They have a second first rounder at 24, so I think it comes down to do they fill better about the Tackle depth (like a Blake...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

On Delane the two main concerns about him were that 1) He may lack the athleticism, he was being projected as a 4.5 flat and 2) cornerback has high variability and until this year he had not been elite. He ran a 4.35 and 4.38 at his pro day so that may have answered the concerns about the...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I agree with you. I have seen a few posters conflate Reese and Styles. I have only heard Styles mentioned as an offball linebacker. He is a fullsize LB, but is a converted safety. He could set an edge for you and he is a fairly physical football player with a decent punch but not to the...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I think it was unexpected that Drew Dalman and Ryan Kelly would retire. That had not happened yet when they released Tyler Biadasz. Two teams who thought they were set at center also became center needy. That may have altered the center market in a way that was unforeseeable at the time...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

Their PFF grades were pretty similar. 62.7 for Simmons and 59.9 for Conerly. Simmons was much better in pass pro 75.5 to 57.8 but Conerly was better in run blocking 63.4 vs 48.1. Conerly played in almost twice as many snaps 1054 vs. 526 for Simmons. Simmons injury issues and off field...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Eventually they are going to spend to the cap. Jayden Daniels will get a 60 million AAV deal and while it won't be year 1 of that deal eventually we are going to have make hard decisions and let good players go. Rolling over a little cap is a rainy day fund that could help a bit more...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I am betting a decent amount of money by my standards on the Commanders over 7.5 wins. I bet a relatively smaller number on them making the playoffs at +240. Over the years I have made money on betting my teams over/unders (Commanders and Terps). I only really bet overunder season win totals...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 2

I listened to the March 26, 2026 Daft on Draft episode on centers, and the big takeaway was pretty clear: this is a mid-round heavy class. There will be starters to come out of this group, but it’s hard to feel confident about exactly who those guys will be. James basically said there’s only one...
