The season is complete and now it is time to think about the future. Let’s get to the questions for this week.
1. The season ending game was very ugly. Does this set a bad tone for next year?
Answer: No. There were many positives with the emergence of rookies and younger players. A solid foundation is being formed and the memories of this game will quickly be forgotten.
2. London Fletcher had another season of excellent play. He wants to return at age 37. Is this a good move?
Answer: Absolutely. He seems to defy age and it would not be surprising to see him playing at a high level for three or four seasons to come.
3. The Redskins staff will be coaching the South team in the Senior Bowl. Will this be helpful for draft purposes?
Answer: In a word – yes. This will give the staff an up close and personal look at players that come from the best teams and conferences in the nation. Also, keep in mind that Coach Shanahan drafted Ryan Kerrigan, Jarvis Jenkins, Roy Helu, Leonard Hankerson, Niles Paul, and Chris Neild last year – all were senior bowlers.
4. Quarterback seems to be the targeted position for this offseason. Who will it be? Luck? Griffin, III? Tannehill? Flynn? Orton?
Answer: BBQ is predicting a trade up to acquire Griffin, III. Don’t be surprised with two other choices – a return of Rex Grossman as a backup and a lower round pick on someone like Kellen Moore.
5. No question here. Just a note to let you know that BBQ will have several offseason editions that will be devoted to free agency, the draft, OTAs, training camp, and various topics.
See you again sometime soon.
Hail to the Redskins!
