Finally! The Lunch Thread!

P.E.I. oysters for lunch today. They are sweet, briny and delicious. They're a little pricier than the locals, but they'll do until our seafood guy starts getting the Chincateauges in. The local oysters will should be peaking in a month, or so. Until then, these will do.

I have never had an authentic Baltimore Pit Beef sandwich but when I have made them myself - it is absolutely amazing!

Yeah, that caught my attention to. I've gotta say, my gut is that's not necessary and would just detract from the pit beef, onion, and tiger sauce, but then again, I haven't tried it :)

I didn't even notice that! I just asked her and she said yeah, she wanted to give it a try. She says it was okay but she wouldn't do it again. BTW, all they offered was American. They used to offer Provolone too, but they put duct tape over it on the menu. I got mine with onions, tiger sauce, and horseradish, both. Med rare.

Breaking in the new knife...3 dozen Pocamoke oysters for.$25.00!
They had PEI's,(my favorite),for $40.00 that are a little brinier than the Pocamokes, but more of a PITA to shuck. The shells are thin, kinda like Chincateauges...

Baby Bok choy, rice & panko breaded shrimp. I did the rice in cooker with beef broth, a sesame oil, garlic powder & tossed in some partially defrosted peas & carrots near the end of the cooking cycle. The shrimp is from the frozen foods section at Costco...

My Skins neighbor/friend & I are going to run some errands tomorrow, then lunch at Jason's Deli for the salad bar and hopefully some turkey chili. I know I'm coming home with some chicken salad, it's amazing...has pecans & pineapple bits in it.
I'm so excited!

Fried liverwurst pepperjack & cheddar cheese with raw onions, horseradish, mayo,(Duke's of course ;) ), and stone ground mustard with a side of Trader Joe's ketchup chips and a sliced dill pickle from the Amish market.

Looks amazing. I love making Pho at home. It's one of the few 'exotic' dishes my wife will eat. We love it. The broth is the key.

Lunch is a difficult subject for me. Basically I hate homemade lunches. I firmly believe there are so many grilled cheese, tuna or ham sandwiches you can eat in a lifetime before they lose their appeal. I have been in this spot for years. I can eat Hamburger Helper for dinner but I need to go out and get a good lunch. It's really weird.
