Was it someone you knew, or that you'd met around Nikki before? So a guy walked up to my porch, picked up an item I had for sale and left the money. I was sitting with Nikki in the room right by the porch and thought I heard something. My ace German Shepherd never raised her head. I seriously think her hearing sucks, this is not the first time.
No she was clueless that anyone was even on the porch. I unloaded from a fishing trip. multiple trips to the car and back door. When I finally opened the door Nikki woke up with this "Oh you are here?" look. She just doesn't hear well I believe and she's only 3.Was it someone you knew, or that you'd met around Nikki before?
From what I've read, watched, and whatnot, dogs are more geared toward a scent they don't recognize, while cats are more intuitive to sound (notice how cats' ears move toward noise and they turn their head to see what they're hearing?) Dogs do the same, but their sense of smell is 10X what cats have.

Is she scratching at her ears at all? Ear mites? Is she just lethargic all of a sudden? No she was clueless that anyone was even on the porch. No she just had her annual check up, no behavior like that, no symptoms. Is she scratching at her ears at all? Ear mites? Is she just lethargic all of a sudden?
Went through that with my two kitties...wasn't pleasant with the drops in their ears
Trying to think of anything to help

Seriously not normal, I'd get a second opinion on her kidneys. I didn't pick up on it fast enough once, and it hurt.Another strange thing: she drinks a lot of water but rarely pees.
I watched her today, she left the porch and peed like a normal dog. When I throw a Frisbee she always stops to pee on her first throw. It's so strange but she does pee.Seriously not normal, I'd get a second opinion on her kidneys. I didn't pick up on it fast enough once, and it hurt.
That's also an indication of diabetes, done that too, injections and all.
Don't wanna make you paranoid or anything, but what goes in eventually comes out, and maybe a different doc could tell you what the problem is. 🤷♀️
