The All Things Terry Thread

I wasn’t joking when I said Mrs. Terry is pulling strings behind the scenes.

Hey, Terry won’t have a better shot at winning a championship than he will here under Peters and playing alongside Jayden for the next two to three years. Obviously, he has greater priorities. To each their own. Funny enough, I am cool as a cucumber because I just reminded myself that Jayden Daniels is our QB for the next 10 years.

QB1 always trumps WR1 in the grand scheme of things. Ask Tom Brady.

At the end of the day, he is under contract to play another season in Washington. I was always taught that when you commit to something, you honour it. The fact that the contract demands have surfaced prematurely, when we are on the verge of entering the season filled with the most hope there has been in decades in Washington speaks volumes about where Terry’s head is at right now. Everyone needs to be in lockstep in terms of what we want to accomplish this year as a team. McLaurin doesn’t seem to be there quite yet and I am not quite sure we need that.
 
I’m really starting to wonder if there’s something to the theory that he thinks this year he won’t get the stats he has in the past because Jayden’s gonna spread the wealth around and he’s worried about what that does to his worth as a player. If he stays here and just gets average stats, and Deebo takes a huge chunk of the offense or somebody else that has yet to emerge that only hurts him for another big contract.
 
They may even let his agent speak to other teams so that someone outside the organization can tell him he isn’t getting 34M+ per

Would you guys do a player-for-player trade with Tyreek Hill? He’s been unhappy in MIA but already has a 3-year $30mm AAV contract in place… I think I’d do it. He is still the fastest player in the league IMO and would allow Deebo, Lane, etc. to dominate underneath (and open up lanes for Jayden et all to run through).

He's no longer the face of the franchise. When JD5 as arrived, that changed. I wonder if that, along with greed, affected his perspective on wanting to stay in DC. MM and Peters are tight. I'd imagine some insight was shared on those extension negotiations from the last go 'round, and Peters was prepared to be firm with those shenanigans. Team first, team building.
 
How is Washington "too late"? It's not like Terry was willing to sign for a more realistic deal earlier in the process. It seems he came into the whole thing hot and was demanding top 3 money from the get-go. The only way it seems Washington could have avoided this is if they just gave Terry whatever he wanted.

Only thing maybe is push this before the draft and if Terry’s side are making crazy demands then perhaps you can get picks before the draft or capitalize some in FA.

But in Peters defense I get why he wouldn’t predict Terry would be this level unreasonable
