Possibly but if you miss on Henderson then you shoot for a RB in the 3rd/4th, IMO depending on our picks. There will be some good ones still available (i.e., Harvey, Neal, Giddens, Skattebo, Tuten). Going to be an interesting draft. I think our most glaring need is EDGE. You almost have to prioritize it. A lot of fans want to see a better ground game this year but we don't know how AP is prioritizing our RBs this upcoming season. Our D gave up a ton of points last year and even though we fixed our run D we still have a huge hole at EDGE to put pressure on the QB and in the secondary too.

I really like the thought of adding Henderson to this offense. RB can contribute right away. Not so sure an edge taken at that pick contributes right away, though edge is the bigger "need". Going to be very interesting what ends up available when we pick.

If AP plays it that way (i.e., #29 traded for a early 2nd and a 3rd) and draft Henderson, I'm good with that.

Coleman is going to get every opportunity to start at RT, they told Keim when they drafted him they see him as a tackle. It’s harder to find tackles than guards. They’re going to try him there until he fails and then if he does they’ll move him inside.

But he’s going to have to fail at tackle before they move him inside. And he hasn’t failed at tackle yet.

I think it depends on how they feel about Wylie at RT. If they believe Coleman could be an upgrade, I think they'll try him there first. As Voice_of_Reason noted, it's more difficult to find high quality Tackles than it is Guards.

Wylie’s reworked deal and pay cut tells me they want Wylie on the team for depth but he doesn’t have starting money.

I think all signs point to them giving Coleman the opportunity and really hoping he wins the job.

I quit betting a long time ago.

But if Coleman ends up at guard I’m happy to tell you “I told you so.”

They must either give Coleman a legit shot at RT or draft the future RT in this draft. Then move Coleman inside where everyone seems to believe he will excel.

Top 20 Box Safety's to my eyes

Way off my opinion that the SS group is better than the FS group, perhaps true if they were blended into one list but as far as pure Box safety's go after the top 10 or so is woof said for what could be some hidden Day 3 gems, which I think are there.

1. Kevin Winston Penn State *Surest tackler in the class with only one missed tackle in 3 seasons I believe – something close to that effect and versatile chess piece do it all type; ability to knife into the backfield and disrupt plays is elite; health knee injury is a concern and could use some more mass/strength but darn good-looking Safety prospect
2. Sebastion Castro Iowa *I love Iowa players in general molded differently and usually a safe bet; Controlled violence type of offender (borrowed term from draft buzz apt for this player) love his physicality and instincts; can offer N/CB value but likely only in zone type schemes; can be too aggressive; missed tackles but excellent Box safety projection at the next level; Wasted resource rushing the QB keep him off blockers as much as possible where he is at his best IMO
3. Lathan Ransom Ohio State *Completely and I do mean I’m out there on an island by my lonesome goes against consensus take but I think he may be better suited mostly at FS though he is good in the Box; has some bad whiffs; slow reaction occasionally but still someone I see as a high ceiling & moderate floor type.
4. Glendon Miller Maryland *Solid player likely underrated scheme versatile better FS/CB than in the Box imo good anticipation & ball skills; Pro Day testing will be huge and likely propel him higher because I expect good numbers
5. Dan Jackson Georgia *Scrappy, cocky player with great instincts & elite closing speed; hits with authority, good pursuit angles and anticipation quality versatile Safety prospect who is probably a sleeper in this group
6. Hunter Wohler Wisconsin *Good athlete with insane 3-cone score for his size; good big Nickel type; may lack long speed but is explosive excellent read and react skills in the Box and sound tackler; better ball skills, range and cover aptitude than credited for; likely being underrated and like this prospect a lot
7. Dean Clark Fresno State *Easily one of the most underrated and sleeper prospects of the SS group aside from Dan Jackson Georgia * Robert McDaniel Jackson State * Mishael Powell Miami with an incredible 9.35 RAS score; excellent strength brought down UCLA TE who is massive solo definite sleeper potential good range instincts blitzer and cover type player
8. Maxen Hook Toledo *Sound tackler with good closing speed and range that can deliver a licking; good all-around athlete with great motor probably being underrated by scouts a bit
9. Mishael Powell Miami *Ballhawk sleeper with excellent versatility can play FS or N/CB-Heavy Nickel; baffling why he’s not higher rated; good ball skills 5 int’s & hits with power has good range guessing 4.5’ish speed
10. Makari Paige Michigan *Excellent length 6’4” and size; above average instincts and can cover; adequate speed good foundational skill set; interesting developmental type prospect that could afford a nice return on modest draft capital; like this player
11. TaMuarian Wilson Central Arkansas *Excellent size could easily make the transition to off ball or inside linebacker; not a lot of film on him but do see the references of him being a force in the middle; he can wallop dudes; good pursuit angles and appears to have adequate speed; Day 3 sleeper potential perhaps
12. Robert McDaniel Jackson State HBCU prospect *Definite sleeper potential scheme versatile played outside CB & Safety; excellent frame
13. Aubrey Burks West Virginia *Good read/react skills; very good closing speed affords good versatility lacks ideal size and top end speed but solid all-around
14. Rayuan Lane III Navy *Good athlete and read and reaction skills; instincts and range for the position with plus cover skills with good closing speed but lacks top end speed and ideal mass, length
15. Shilo Sanders Colorado *Not an easy prospect to gauge imo; lack of ideal length & size and his 40 time is not being disclosed that I can determine but probably in the 4.5 plus range; good hitter has range skills, needs to tackle better seems to have good ball and read and react skills
16. Malik Verdon Iowa State *Plus length and size with good ball skills; speed is a question mark; athlete former WR & QB traits based upside
17. Ian Kennelly Grand Valley State *9.13 RAS score; excellent ball skills with 8 Int’s developmental type that could return surprisingly high ceiling and value
18. Trey Rucker Oklahoma State #9 *Enforcer type with above average ball skills; great length and size; traits based upside
19. Mike Smith Jr. Eastern Kentucky *Smooth athlete but very developmental type needs a lot of refinement technique wise but foundation is there to build upon
20. Jaden Voisin South Alabama * Developmental type; solid production 4 int’s; seems like a quality athlete with good motor and traits based upside

I think you gotta give Coleman a shot at RT unless you are willing to give up on that experiment and roll with Wylie there.

We just can't make any assumptions about how the draft will fall and we don't have a bajillion picks where we can assume we'll pick up a dude in the first 80 picks or so. We've basically got 2 chances to get a potential impact player for this year, and even there most analysis of the draft suggest a lot of the "tackles" are gonna be better as guards.

Funnily enough, the "we have a bajillion picks we'll surely get a tackle" situation was basically what happened last year and we held off for a while and then picked Coleman.

We probably have to assume we will be rolling with that we have. Tunsil - Allegretti/Wylie/Coleman - Biadasz - Cosmi (but Allegretti/Wylie until he's back) - Coleman/Wylie

And ultimately, Tunsil - Allegretti/Wylie - Biadasz - Cosmi - Coleman is probably not too bad of a line. If Coleman works out, then really only LG is a bit of a ??? and even there an OLine working together will cover up deficiencies.


We'll see tho. If Simmons falls into our lap because other teams are worried about his injuries but we aren't, awesome possum let's roll.

He's definitley it seems to be the most popular pick from a fan standpoint here and twitter, etc. that's what makes me sadly think we will see him playing against us in the division. Maybe I am misremembering but our fans wanting one player, often doesn't play out that way.

Ain’t that the truth. With the exception of that RB from LSU in the 2nd round years ago.

Until we come out of the draft I don’t think anything is set even in pencil. If an OT they like drops (Simmons say) in the first after a run on Edge that could well be best player available and they pull he trigger. Then that player would slot in at RT and I would plug Coleman in at LG. Have Wylie and Allegretti compete to start at RG until Cosmi comes back.

Yes, I agree with that. We have to see what they do in the draft. Though, I have talked myself into taking a RB over OL in the first unless it's so obvious the OL is a better prospect.

But I agree, we have to see what they do in the draft, that's the big unknown at the moment.

Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan had him #15 overall been a while since I looked his way though.

Esa Pole OT Washington State is on the rise 6'5# 320lbs as is OT though Bryce Cabeldue - overlooked Bryce thought Esa was a better guard but this changed my opinion:

Dalton Cooper OT Oklahoma State is one of my favorite sleeper types.

Just watched some Loveland, Arroyo, Taylor, back to back.

Taylor is a higher floor TE IMO but his ceiling feels meh. I do think his style though is a good match for this offense -- a lot of quick outs on the first level which this offense majors in. He keeps his eye on the QB when the QB scrambles and adjusts his routes to help which fits Jayden well. He's not a great YAC guy but not bad. He reminds me some of the college version of Luke Musgrave. OK as a blocker, willing but not that physical but has some moments. High floor, low ceiling. 3rd rounder IMO. 2nd round feels too rich to me. But I think he's a solid #2 TE type. I'd be surprised if he busts. The good is he gets open quickly on the first level. The bad is he's not a dynamic dude IMO -- not the type that scares defenses a heck of a lot but really solid.

Arroyo is the higher ceiling TE IMO. He's a 2nd level and beyond threat -- more of a big play waiting to happen both as a pass catcher and as a YAC guy. Taylor is lanky and a bit stiff as a runner whereas Arroyo looks more like an action figure with the ball in his hands. Looks faster and stronger than Taylor among others but I guess will see for sure on his pro day this week. Great hands. He's been injured. Has only last year as far as production goes. So he's a risk. Low floor. High ceiling. Late 2nd rounder IMO. I saw some tout him as late first rounder post Senior Bowl but while I get the enthusiasm -- there are too many concerns to put him that high. But I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up the best TE sans Tyler Warren. Also it wouldn't shock me if he's a bust. I'd bet on success but there is some risk with him. Boom-bust TE but am feeling frisky this off season and am willing to take some chances.

Loveland is kind of a mix of the two. He's lanky like Taylor and similar with the ball in his hands but with more potential on that front because he's a more fluid runner. He is no Tyler Warren as far as physicality both as far as contested catches and YAC. I've heard Logan Paulsen who loves Loveland compare him to Ertz. I get that. He's a fluid mover who seperates really well on the first-2nd level. Knows how to contort his body to create enough space to catch the ball with a defender draped on him -- Ertz style. Finds the seam on the 2nd level -- finds those holes in zone coverage. On that front he reminds me of Cooley. He has potential as a YAC guy, he's a fluid runner with long legs but he oddly seems to run into contact. Not much vision in open field as a runner but he moves well. Sells his routes way. Good catch radius. Can go up and get it. Also catches well away from his body. Just so so at best though with straight on man on man contested straight on catches. Willing blocker.

High floor -- medium to high ceiling. Late first rounder IMO. I like him a lot but upon rewatching him he's not a top 15 pick like some draft geeks are pushing but I get the love for him.
