It's nothing against you or your taste of music. I've been playing guitar and music for 52 years. I saw a ton of bands. I'm a guitar guy but that also includes the entire band. First influence that blew my mind was Hendrix and he started me playing guitar at 8 years old. The only other person that blew my mind on the guitar was Eddie Van Halen (also SRV and RR to a degree). I saw every Van Halen tour with David Lee Roth and they smoked every night.

Journey was pop rock. Have a lollipop

I can't post what I play...I have a bass clef tattooed on my chest, but it got stolen. It was a beautiful red Yamaha. And as a pianist, it's the shit.

I was a vocalist in my youth and still have it at 58.

I read music, own a Seth Thomas metronome.
 
For the other Van Halen fans what did you guys think of “A Different kind of Truth”. The album was mostly made with leftovers from their early years that didn’t make the cut on the early albums. Mikey not being around didn’t help but there were a few bangers. Like this one.

God only knows what'll happen when Steve & Steve go. (Perry and Vai). I almost hope I'm not around to find out.
 
To throw my hat in the Journey conversation here is a track I really liked off of Eclipse. Arnel Pineda is no prime Steve Perry but he’s a good vocalist in his own right. I will take this version of Journey over no Journey. Neal Schon really shines on this album.

I get it, these people wrote the soundtracks to our lives. The deaths of Neil Peart and Eddie Van Halen hit me hard as well. Reminds us of our own mortality as well.
