Liquor, Beer, Wine & Cocktails.....What do you like & what are you drinking?

Celebrating 9-5 with a healthy pour....I don't care about whether it's a "quality" win or not.
I'll take it!

This bottle is . Impossible to get but makes me want want want.
Never heard of it...not that means anything...have you ever had it and why is it so hard to get ? Most double-oaked whiskey is kind of sweet to my unsophisticated palate. I looked it up, but couldn't find much out about it...

1863 (Swill Dog brewing) partnered with the Country Roads trust (which kicks money to the WVU NIL) to produce a line of whiskey. This one bottle (not the others that were made for the Country Roads trust) was made in a super limited batch and only auctioned off. Apparently someone bought all or most of them and gifted them to some former players.

If your asking about the 1863, I assume it's a column still since it's bourbon whiskey. I honestly haven't tried it but my Dad, who lives in Southern WV, picked up 2 bottles this morning. Unfortunately it will be 7 or 8 months before I try them..if at all. Plan on making a trip to their hq (Swilled Dog brewery) in the summer (Upper Tract, WV for anyone who is interested).

Appears to be in Pendleton County, about an hour from Harrisonburg, VA.

Not much out there about the source. All I can see is that it's only 4-5 years old and made in some sort of collaboration with brewery, or something like that. Double Oaked is usually a deal killer for me, but I never say never! When I read the OP, I thought it was something special that he had already tried.... the evil genius I'm looking forward to your thoughts on it after you've tried it.....

Pops got these two..but like I said it will be 6 or 7 months before I make it back east to Lewisburg.

It's also out of my cheapass bourbon/whiskey price range for a bottle. 😆

As an aside, if you are ever in Lewisburg, Smooth Ambler whiskey and bourbon is bottled there just outside of the little airport. They have a tasting room too.

Whoa! That's very pricey for young whiskey with "mystery" distillate. You can get 3-4 bottles of Old Grandad BiB or WT 101 for $90.00. I have a few older bottles of Smooth Ambler that are really good.

Yeah, though it all goes to the WVU NIL, so I suspect most people are getting it to support WVU sports and maybe just as something interesting to display.

Being associated with smooth ambler it has to be some of their young distillate. All the Dickel they have I’ve heard about is a lot older than this.

I'll stick with rarities like this. It's awesome IMO especially since it's under 40 a bottle.

No association with Smooth Ambler AFAIK. I just mentioned them since I mentioned Lewisburg.

Now this I want to try!
It's still in the stores around here in Tennessee but I don't believe that you can find it everywhere. One store has it at 38 another has it at 45. I bought 3 bottles because I really liked the first one. It's 109-112proof depending on which batch you get it from. Mine are 109 and 111.

It's an Islay whiskey kind of night...
