Yeah. No way 69% completion rate over the last 5 seasons, >2:1 TD to INT ratio makes him better than Taylor Heinicke.

Good lord.

And that's the reason why the Raiders will not part with him. Would take at least 3 first rounders and probably more. It ain't happening.

That’s a huge gamble on many fronts if true. Between jail, suspension, the stigma, and the too many assets he’d command there should be no interest from the FO. Makes no sense to me

Me either... but it's out there. Could be nonsense... but more than once we've been connected.. but we've been connected to EVERY QB that may be available, so...
 
Yeah but they should check on Jeff George’s availability first!

This crushes me. He WAS available after all.

We have swung and missed two years in a row. I am becoming more fearful that now with limited options, Watson is on the radar.

That one to me would scream desperation and the owner being in Rivera's ear.

Let's just finally be that team that finds their guy in the draft for the first time in forever.
 
At the end of the day, I suppose moving to a team that has even worse uniforms than those of the Seahawks was just not desirable to Wilson at this point in his career.

I still wonder how much of htis was Russ picking where he wanted to go. He had a no-trade clause, so we could have swung for the fences and HE was the one that said no.


The other thing is I look at this team and trading away MULTIPLE 1sts as well as MULTIPLE other picks and players is A LOT. There has to be a line that you draw regarding roster building and I do wonder what that's going to do to Denver (and what it would do to us).

Everything you say is 100% correct and rational thinking, Derek.

I suppose it now becomes even more tricky for us. Not only are the big name targets dwindling, but now if we are turning towards the draft for a QB target, we may be faced with the possibility of now having to use draft assets to leap a team like Seattle to acquire an unknown commodity that we want. There is major risk in that too.

It is a tough pill to swallow today for Washington fans.
 
Some other things to consider"

1. Seattle likely DID NOT want Russ to stay in the NFC


2. Wilson is married to Ciara, a big time performer. He knocked down the idea last week about coming east, saying he's a west coast guy... Denver is a hop, skip, and a jump away from LA.


3. It's very likely Russ did NOT want to play this close to home. Kevin Durant had the same mentality... during the offseason before he went to Brooklyn, there was a ton of talk from him about not wanting to play in his hometown... constantly having people from the 'old neighborhood' hit you up for money or tickets... Not that it's an end all, but it may be another reason he doesnt want to move closer to 'home'

I argue the opposite. We JUST did a podcast where we didn't even TOUCH on Rodgers or Wilson because we knew better. Nothing changed other than the fact that Seattle took Denver's place in the QB sweepstakes.
