Time for a Cool Change

A little cleaner mock-up. I mean - that is TIGHT. I'll do a light background version in a second. I'm wondering Knightingale, could we also emboss the stars and see how that looks with them popping out a little?

I agree the stars need some pop. Other than that I LOVE it. ❤️

And since we’re micromanaging here … lol? …

I think the stars should be a little smaller and the Est. 2009 might want a slightly gentler shade of gold.

Ok I’m done. Really.

It rocks. 👊🏻

Excellent logo, folks. You all did great with that!

Good thing Jason Wright isn't on this committee. He would be banging his fist on the table insisting that it says "Est. 2010." 😉

Not sure how to move it around to show the stars more maybe....

Which flag is this? Point me at it and I can grab it.

Also, if anyone wants the root files for the BGO with teh camo to put on their own backgrounds, I'm happy to share.

That's the root file. I add a bevel and emboss to it in Adobe InDesign, which gives it the 3Dish look and makes it pop out a bit.
it was a post by the legendary Canadian Hog at 2;14 pm today. he put up 3 flags I thought the top one was cool but instead of white letters do the camo BGO

i do agree about the EST 2009.

Obviously the weather REALLY sucks today in Canada...

I tried one with an image connected to the area, as the other designs I created only had DC flag elements...just to give a sense of what things might look like if you guys wanted to incorporate other images

Knightingale I believe he's talking about this one

No opinion on the color of the 'est' - tweak away. On the stars, I just don't want to lose the DC Flag proportions. Knightingale , the flag image is actually a little more positioned to the right than on the left (ie... there's more bar showing on the right than the left). If we slide it so it's exactly centered behind BGO and then maybe just slightly reduce the size of the overall flag image so the bars are still extending past the BGO but not as much, that will make the stars a little smaller but still have the flag proportional.

Okay, so I've made the flag slightly smaller, embossed it. I've centralized everything equally. The EST is slightly paler now, more gold I think.

I think it looks pretty damn awesome!

Here's the proportions...

And here's the flag as a PNG

LOL By the way, you guys can call me Jon, if that's easier!

Knightingale is my gamer name when I'm online, I just use it all over the place as a handle.

Also, can we move each star slightly upward separate from the flag to create just a little bit of space between the letter and the star?

If we can’t get that goal EST to a shade that everyone likes, the other option is to always go back to the white.

The big old white box in the image above is the constraints I'm working within. The box is 190 pixels high, and 400 wide, which I think is the parameters listed in the first post.

I've nudged the stars up as far as they can go, and I've changed the shade of the EST to match a bit of the border (It depends which bit you want, as the 3D bevelling with the lighting means that there's LOADS of different shades in there)
How's this?

I like this one. I’m more interested in the colors matching the actual team colors than the site colors tbh. At some point in the next couple of years, we will be upgrading to the next version of Xenforo and may decide to update the entire look anyway.

That is a hot logo option and I love and appreciate all the input after I got this idea out there.

Jon,

Forgive me for perseverating over it, but I'm still hung up over the shade of burgundy. Tried again to use the existing darker shade that's prevalent in the forum and by happy accident it came out with a sweet outline of the shade you've used. How does this look to your eye?

This version also removes the Est. 2009, which I love in concept but I'm not sure adds to the aesthetic (again, to my eye anyway).

I get Boone's point about using the actual team colors, I really do. Since at some point we will be redoing the whole site look again, good news is we'd be able to tweak the logo colors again at the same time.

Also, a little bit of a different font, but in all honesty, I like the idea that was mentioned about using the original BGO lettering.

Again - all just ideas and things to think about...I honestly am easy in terms of which direction people want things to go...just happy to throw out ideas and create. I LOVE art and this is all entertainment for me :).

Sorry if it is becoming overwhelming. I probably won't stop until I am told that enough is enough though....at which point I will and won't be offended!

That is really coo!!!l I like it a lot!!!

I didn’t mean to shut down convo on the ‘est’ colors or other tweaks to this one. Just meant for me this one looks good.

Can

Can you post just the logo - can’t see it well enough in the mockup

I think we’ll end up with several versions of this one for folks to ‘vote’ on (or whatever you want the process to be for final determination), along with whatever others want as finalists. We can include one without the Est and with darker burgundy obviously.
