Firearm Thread

AR-15

Love it. While I don't have one, you can't believe the FB arguments I've gotten into about this firearm. Obviously, the majority of people have no clue that from a caliber perspective there are way more powerful rifles out there that are more powerful than the AR. They don't know what to say when I mention it's actually illegal to hunt with it in some states because it's not powerful enough. ;-)

Picked up my Ruger LCR a couple weeks ago and have been out shooting a bit. Will be applying for my CCW in August after my training. :)

That's a nice looking piece ya got there McD...what brand ya running?

That's a combination of a few different things from different places.

I'll typically buy the gun from one manufacturer, then add scopes from others.

I just picked up an AK-47 this weekend. I'll post a pic soon.

Went to Cabellas yesterday and was soooo close to buying an 1873 model 45 colt. Need a bear deterrent and just love the look of these walnut handled beauties.

Peacemaker. Yes please.

This is the last gun I want to buy, and then I'm done. I want one of these so badly.

I love those old style revolvers. They are definitely things of beauty. Really love revolvers (my favorite pistol is a S&W .357 that was my Dads) for the same reason I love over/under shotguns - they are so simple and perfect in design.

Just bought a Sight Mark red/green dot optics for the AR. It's the equivalent of your firearm getting his hair did.

Do you shoot terrorists or defenceless animals? Terrorists are known to shoot back, so I guess it's the latter!

Actually I'm more into shooting terrorist animals...mean little sumbitches.

Edit: If you're curious on your guess I've deployed to the Middle East on a few occasions. So yeah, went looking for em.

You a vegetarian, AND an anti gun.......person?

I'm not anti-guns, I'm anti any Tom, Dick and Harry can acquire all the necessary paperwork and get a gun, no questions asked. Given all the civilian shootings, you shouldn't be looking over your shoulder coz it WILL happen.

I'm not a vegetarian, but my meat is not shot. Hunters would shit themselves if the animals were given equality.

So, you don't mind civilians, or animals dying, as long as it's not by gun. Brilliant.

As a hunter, I choose to take the occasion to kill an animal and eat it. I gut it, I clean it, and I own the fact that I did it.

Your weapon is money. You pay for someone else to shield you from the reality of it all. Or do you think the meat you eat dies of natural causes?

So you see, shoppers would shit themselves too, mate.

I've lived off the land, eating pigs, kangaroo, buffalo, goanna, mudcrabs, barramundi, and anything else edible. However, I have never shot anything so as to eat. I caught animals in a way they had an chance of escaping, giving them an equal chance. I was taught to hunt by aborigines, and they don't know what a gun is! Some, like mudcrabs, didn't have that 'luxury' as once in the crab pot, they couldn't get out, and the barra was speared, so to let them go would have been cruel.

I agree that shoppers would shit themselves, but not all shoppers, only those who don't know any better. I know where my meat now comes from, and for me it's the easiest way of getting it, but it will never taste the same.

Also, I don't have a problem with people being shot, as long as it is by someone who needs to carry a gun in the line of work. Police need to start carrying out their threat of 'Stop or I'll shoot!'. If it was me, I would shoot first, ask questions later. Security guards are employed to protect assets, so if anyone feels those assets would be better off elsewhere, they also deserve to be shot. If one has nothing to hide, they should be safe, but if they run, they are guilty of something and deserve to be shot. Why can't people, black or white, follow simple instructions? When they are told to NOT put their hands in their pockets, then do so, what's to say they aren't reaching for a weapon?

Wildlife rangers need to be armed as some hunters don't give a rat's what they shoot. They wound an animal and let it live. That is just plain cruel and the so-called hunters should be given the same chance.

Sounds like you still had to kill them. And, if you're a good successful hunter, they don't really have much chance. Regardless of the method, or weapon. So, don't kid yourself. Your animals are just as dead as mine. And they all had the same chance. Some were just in the wrong place, at the wrong time. For them.

Again, does your meat, that you know where it comes from, die of natural causes? Or, is it killed somehow?

So, are you saying that the woman who's car breaks down in the middle of a bad neighborhood should just bend over and take whatever the would be rapist wants to give her? Or the old couple sitting in their own home should just let a home invader force their way in, beat the two of them to death, and steal everything they own?

Fortunately, you don't get to pick and choose who should, or shouldn't be able to own a gun. Your way would have numbers of innocent people dying, needlessly, every...single...day.

Police need to start carrying out their threat of 'Stop or I'll shoot!'. If it was me, I would shoot first, ask questions later. Security guards are employed to protect assets, so if anyone feels those assets would be better off elsewhere, they also deserve to be shot. We seem to agree here.

Humans can do some dumb shit. No denying that. But 95% of the people shouldn't have to pay for the dumbness of such a small number of boobs.

Dammit Aussie you just typed the plot of 'Crocodile Dundee' didn't you?
