Random Commanders Thoughts

I'm going on record saying that I believe we just drafted the next Larry Fitzgerald. He'll be here eight years and will be an All-Pro over and over again.

I know he's being compared by most to AJ Green. And either would be incredible. But when I watch his tapes he looks so much like Fitzgerald that it's crazy.

He's one of those very rare WRs where you can just throw it anywhere near him and he'll come up with the catch.

His tapes are just one highlight catch after another.

its not about improving one position but the team and not just this year but years to come. That is why you take BPA. Reed, Robinson, Austin, Jones and a few others may very well be there when we pick again. I do believe we could trade into the top of the third and select Jones, but I think he might go bottom second. Jones is said while a little raw has the upside to be the best DT in the draft.

It's optimistic for sure.....but honestly, the guy isn't even human physically. He's really a physical freak. Like Calvin was, AJ, etc. Check this out:

AJ Green and Doctson both ran 4.5 40s at the combine.

AJ Green is one inch taller. And his arms are 2 1/2 inches longer than Doctson's.

However, Doctson jumps 7 inches higher. And much further in the broad jump.

He's a freak.

No, what made me slightly ill was the NFL channel's repeated insistence that the Ravens took Tunsil completely off their board. He was SO off their board. There was NO way he'd be on the Ravens' board ever after what happened earlier in the afternoon. Did I mention the Ravens took him off their board? Completely?

... really Ravens? Really? When did you all suddenly grow a sense of morality and ethics? Put a statue of Ray Lewis in front of your stadium. Act like Ray Rice was some sort of victim until an actual video of him knocking his lady the **** out surfaces. But Lord Above, don't anyone dare smoke dope some indeterminate time in the past or we'll take him COMPLETELY off our board. Completely.

So I have been thinking about the new chop block rule and how that is going to affect the game.

Will it make the run game more important? It will make the need for bigger, stronger RB's who are exceptional blockers more important since they lost a key element of pass pro.

Thinking about this, I was wondering if Derrick Henry would be a good choice if he were available tonight with our pick. Isn't he a great blocking back, as well as, runner? Not sure I like the apparent wear (145 rushes in his final 3 college games), but he's big and blocks well. Can we find that later in the draft?
 
That's what sucks is we had a strong blocker/RB in Darrel Young. I see what you're saying though and completely agree, all measures to improve our run game should be taken.

I've seen (on tv) the mask used as in blowing smoke in a crease then reapplying the mask. Just not connected together like that. Then again I've been out of the game for 20 some years too.

i think with his carries that will scare some teams but if he is there at the time we pick I would imagine we could use that to trade down the guy prosise out of ND is decent and can catch and block good to so more value in him I think in the late 3rd
 
Oh, great, the Redskins just got the draft's best receiver. Can get deep, rise over DBs, snatch it. Cowboys can cover him with ... ???

Heheh. Tusnil had an "allergic" reaction and is with the fins medical staff, instead of at his press conference. . Yeah, allergic to media questioning his dumb ass decisions. :)

Myles Jack was informed by doctors today that he will NOT need surgery. Up to 7 teams are reportedly now trying to trade up to the first pick to take him. One of those teams is supposedly Dallas. The Skins are not in that group.
 
The Redskins are going to take a back in this draft IMO.

Someone with better quickness and acceleration than Morris had. Hopefully, that player will be durable, which Jones and Thompson were not in 2015.

After our passing results in 2015 teams are not going to stack the box in 2016 and challenge the Redskins to throw. Just the opposite. I think you are going to see soft zones so guys like Jackson, Reed and Doctson don't beat them down the field.

There are going to be opportunities to run the ball and exploit defenses.

But we need to find a back that can turn the corner on a defense and take advantage of the holes that are there.
 
They're gonna invest a lot of money in Kirk, so I can see wanting to set him up for success immediately. Still al lot of defensive depth. I was kinda thinking they'd grab a back as well.
