Official Game Thread - Preseason Week 2 - Commander @ Lions

I listen to every Keim podcast, and I know we have a long history of listening to the exact same podcasts and somehow at times hearing completely different things. So with that caveat, here's the impression I've gotten from Keim on the Biadasz situation: A. They thought Biadasz was an...

I was fine with them releasing Biadasz — but only if they had a legitimate replacement lined up in free agency. Apparently, judging by Keim's podcast, they actually had two targets, although who the second one was remains a mystery. But Peters doesn't get brownie points from me for swinging and...

Ravens joint practice should be interesting. The more I hear and I watched some of it when out for dinner last night how dominant the Giants were over the Dolphins -- the less I take from this team's week with the Dolphins. Raanan was on a podcast weeks back and seemed not completely sold on...

Agree. When I said the WRs sucked from what we hard, I saw a little of it myself, in camp and that extended to the preseason and Peters let it ride. But I don't think he will repeat the same mistake at O line this summer -- that wasn't sarcasm, I meant it. I am not as high as some are on...

Josh Taylor, is just a fan, but as I mentioned for a dude who went to 11 practices its hard not to catch things. The 2 O lineman he highlighted that looked good in camp, are the same ones ironically Quinn hits on here.

That was beyond bad, that Jayden series. embarrassing. Before we heard rumors they might look at the waiver wire after the last cuts or might try to make a trade. Now I think they have to do so. The Lions did us a favor by game planning to exploit Washington’s center. Showcasing that you can...

If they suck, I'm fine with dumping Peters, but I doubt they will. I don't think Peters has done a particularly good job building this roster so far. Yeah pretty much every beat guy has said the same, Keim basically said it on air a few minutes ago and here There were multiple reasons. At one point, Brandon Aiyuk appeared to be a possibility -- Washington was just waiting for him to be released from the 49ers. The Commanders would have been...

Yep that's the other part of it, if Terry missed time they likely would have been screwed, now not as big of a deal

The room as it was before was potentially fine, I don't disagree. But heck why is fine the standard? I don't expect Peters to trash any of his units, he's going to sell them all including the CB room which he has done. But based on his actions, i doubt he was privately cool with the WR room...

lol, yeah and Finlay, Bram in particular. i like Grant and Finlay and Bram. But I'd cringe everytime I'd hear this Wr room is fine and fans are overreacting. Danny Rouhier nailed my position perfectly -- getting by with mid round WRs or whatever in a rebuilding year is fine -- but this team...

I think part of that was he was coming off an ACL. He claims he's feeling better this year versus last.

Keim https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49539100/stefon-diggs-washington-commanders-signing-contract-questions Why did the Commanders wait so long to sign him? And does his delayed start hurt his chances to make an early impact? There were multiple reasons. At one point, Brandon Aiyuk...

I got grief for making this point about the Chig signing. i like Standig, he was on Sheehan recently and was asked do you think Diggs signs here or not -- his answer was no. Keim has been pounding the table that this signing is likely.

Yeah I defended the move at the time because I got the impression they'd sign a decent Fa or draft someone highish for that spot. Neither thing happened. If I had to pick themes why I am not as sold on Peters as some here. A. He's just as bad so far as Bruce and Ron as to missing on great...

Just listening to everything, the vibe I get: A. Jayden is locked in and looks sharp B. Luke has been the 2nd best WR #2, the Finlay podcast disagrees, they are the outlier on this. Mitch Tishler seems to think this is the camp of Dyami but I don't really hear anyone else echo that so I...

The Commanders are still in see-what-we-have mode at receiver, but I'm told free agent Stefon Diggs is on the radar. Washington is monitoring the situation with Diggs, who's intrigued by the chance to play in Washington (he's from the area). Let's see how things play out, but it seems like this...

Watching Josh Taylors videos, he's a fan, but really detailed, reminds me some of how I used to do my camp recaps when I'd go, he actually is better. Some of his thoughts. A. Luke the #2 Wr in camp. That contradicts JP. Luke is the starter right now in camp at slot, Antoinio mostly playing...

The Commanders have a plan at wide receiver. But is it good enough? In an ideal world, the Washington Commanders would have a pair of proven No. 1 receivers who could be used interchangeably on the right and left sides of the field to give quarterback Jayden Daniels more options in the pass...

Yeah, for so many years our front office would bypass the obvious blue-chip college player because they wanted to get cute and go "outside the box." Instead of taking guys like Olave, Cooper DeJean, Kyle Hamilton, Derwin James, Christian Darrisaw, or Christian Gonzalez, they'd convince...

I don't think that was a hard one. And if I recall it wasn't just me. They needed a corner. He played for Daronte. He was available. But I get how it feels out of the blue -- he's a not a dude who gets discussed much as to the NFL, he's become a below the radar guy.

I know what you mean. but lol I could swear I've and others mentioned it here. He played in Minny last year. Had good PFF scores for what its worth. He could be had for a ham samwhich, he was free to be had -- which fits Peters mode. Keim I recall threw his name randomly on a podcast when...

Agree. I get the sense that Croskey-Meritt isn't the best with the mental side of the game -- whereas Rachaad White is. And it might be a reason why White wins the job or its almost an even split. White isn't an explosive runner. But he can run routes and he is a good pass protector.
