It's not too soon. Dyami, Van Jefferspin, Lane, McCaffrey, and Antonio Williams were all going to be 2,000 yards receivers this season, and now none of them are because Diggs is going to be old, decrepit, and soak up all those catches to the tune of 35 catches for 500 yards. It's a talent drain. The FO should have shown them more faith and split up Diggs' money as bonuses to them.
But of course he didn't, he went for the Bruce Allen tactic of throwing huge money at an aging vet for a long term one year contract.
Is this a serious post? Diggs showed last year that he is far from washed. He matched Terry McLaurin’s 2024 season production and he did it coming off of an ACL.
He has far surpassed anything a Washington WR (including Terry McLaurin) has ever done, He has had 5 seasons of more than a 100 catches over an 8 season stretch. There is no one on the Washington roster who has done it even once in their career. He is an aging vet. But he is also a hell if a WR.
