I know a large group of Redskins fans wanted Grossman pulled for Beck. I was not one of those people. This is an example of being careful what you wish for.

While statistically you might notice that Beck averages more yards per game, and a slightly higher QB rating, he just doesn't give us a chance to win. At least with Grossman, it generally felt like we were always in it.

Grossman stands at 3-2 right now, while Beck is about to go to 0-3. I understand we have injuries, but I also understand that John Beck just isn't even good enough to be a sub par QB in this league. In 122 pass attempts, he has just 1 TD.

Perhaps the most glaring difference between Grossman and Beck, is that with Grossman under center, we were averaging 20.6 PPG. Under Beck, that average is just 7.6, and not looking to improve any time soon.

You can count me among the few that wish we would put Grossman back in and at least attempt to salvage what's left of the season to make it more bearable.

Beck is a nice guy, but he's not an NFL QB. It's not all his fault, but we can't win with him. With Grossman, we aren't likely to win, but at least it's a possibility.

It's like trying to decide which venereal disease you prefer.

At this point, I don't care who gives us the best chance to win. I think Grossman will do a better job of getting the ball down the field to the young receivers to hasten their development, so I'm good with putting him in.

Beck vs. Grossman? Hey, I'm all for it. Let them go 15 rounds and whoever wins will be the starter. Or go with the loser.

My choice?

Activate Crompton and let him get a shot.

I wouldn't yell if we switched back. Hell, I'd take Compton... Cromptom... Campton... whatever his friggin name is

Crompton'd be fine, if he didn't retard the growth of the WRs and Rbs. I'm honestly not sure how he could be any worse than Captain Dumpoff or Ltnt Turnover.

I was one of those fans. I was horribly wrong and I'm over it. With Beck we're PUTRID. I'd settle to just be Gross Man.

I hate to admit it but its time to put Rex back in.

At least with Rex there is the threat of the downfield pass.

I was one of those who, frustrated with Rex's mistakes, said "Yeah, stick Beck in and see what he can do."

O.K., I've seen what he can do.

I was going to allow him four games before making a call.

It turned out not to have taken that long.

I want Rex back.

lol!

I agree. It doesn't matter.

Let's face it...right now we're looking at Miami, Seattle and the Vikes as our only competitive games. Look on the bright side....with a little smarts...we'll get our QB in the next draft. From there...we can build in earnest. Until then...eh....my golf game is bound to get better....:)

Yeah. Basically we have two choices; slim or none.

Looking at Hasselback in TN frustrates me!

Gotta agree. Beck doesn't seem to have great field vision. He forced throws into coverage today when he had guys wide open. I have to think Grossman sees those open guys.

Throwing the picks is maddening but dumping off on 3rd and 8 is almost as bad.

I was all for giving Beck a shot but he hasn't done anything. I think Rex gives us a better chance on offense to score points. It's time to end this experiment and sticking with Beck would only show Mike's pigheadedness more than anything else.

I think if you took a vote among our defensive unit at this point, they would likely say to throw Rex back in the fold as well.

It must be demoralizing playing defense in Washington each week and knowing that if you give up 10 to 14 points, you have likely not done enough to help your team earn a victory.

Beck was given a chance to come in and prove he's worthy of being on the roster....so far he's proved he might be a practice squad player for when we want to simulate a qb who only throws 10 yards.

I agree that Rex has a claim on starting again (especially since that will relieve me of any obligation to watch further Skins games this season.....I'll work on my golf game before I'll let Butterball frustrate the livin bejebus out of me again!). but one correction: we had no downfield game with Rex in there either...that was one of my original criticisms of Rex. which leads to the thought that the problem runs deeper than just the QBs.

But he at least threw it downfield. Beck did not make an attempt over 12-15 yards today.

I can only recall one...maybe two...deep balls Rex has thrown. he has thrown almost entirely short to mid-range stuff. neither guy has created any kind of deep threat that opposing defenses have to worry about.

to be honest...and I know this will go over like a lead balloon....I favor any strategy that increases the odds of our landing a quality QB in the off-season. john beck and rex grossman are both second rate QBs.

Homer McFanboy (Brian Murphy) said that we should get the QB who will be our starter for the next 15 to 18 years. In other words, give up four first round picks to move up and take Andrew Luck.

Some may think that is crazy, but I would support such a move if we are too far removed from the first pick.
