Foods you like that most people hate

Liverwurst... I don't think of it as a food generally hated. Me and the wife love it. On nice fresh rye bread, sliced onion, and hot brown deli mustard. Wash it down with a nice nutty dark brew, and I'm golden.

Anybody like escargot... While I don't like the way the french generally do it, but sauteed in butter with garlic is so good.

No wonder I need to loose 35 lbs:kick_can:

Don't like moose nose or beaver tail, too fatty and gross. I dont mind pemmican if its made right.

I love sashimi but the best sashimi is scallop and salmon, cant stand tuna, although the tuna I had in Hawaii was very different than what we get here and was better, and the salmon I ate in the states was gross and not at all like salmon here.

I do like Gjaetost its a norwegian goat cheese, very strong in flavour, and pickled herring is also good (rollimops)

Or a tapeworm. The thought of parasites is all it takes for me to stay away from raw beef.

You guys reminded me of a childhood favorite, liverwurst. What can I say - I was a weird kid :) .

I guess that makes me a weird kid too because I like liverwurst. But only so much, maybe one sandwich every six months.

I have had eggs and brains. Disgusting! Never again! I have eaten tongue, pig's feet and much of what has already been mentioned. Still not a fan of gator and I have had it prepared in many ways.

Didn't see scrapple mentioned. Mmm....

I have had it where it was disgusting too, but it was from a can. If you can find a southern country restaurant that serves them fresh, it's a different world of taste.

First post ;) Scrapple is delicious. When I was a kid, my dad was a route salesman. Every time we went up to Delaware, they ate it like candy. One day they were frying up some samples at an old A&P Supermarket, so we tried it and we were hooked immediately.

Don't let the gray color fool you guys lol.

My grandmother used to cook the brains and eggs, one of my grandfather's favorite dishes.

As for scrapple...anyone who has not eaten scrapple, do yourself a favor and do not go in the kitchen while it is being cooked. Awful smell for such a delightful meal!

My very favorite sandwich... horse c**k sandwich. Well, that's what my ex's father used to call bologna sandwiches. Bologna on rye with lettuce, pickles, onions and Guldens. Mmm...

I take bologna and cheese and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and let it melt/get a little warm and eat it right out of there. love that ****...
THis was my lunch every day for a few years during childhood, couldn't get enough.

My parents never bought bologna, but whenever I went to my buddy Mike's house, his dad would make us fried bologna sandwiches.

PS - anyone else cringe every time they write "bologna" because they really want to type "baloney?"

Yes, every time. It's like my eyes want to kick my brain's ass

I haven't had bologna in years now.

What I do eat is mortadella, which is the real deal from Bologna Italy. I grew up on it, and kind of thought the kids eating the regular bologna were the weird ones. For about the last year now, I have a few slices as part of my breakfast.

I find myself becoming more and more Italian as I get older. :)

I had never tried that until about a week ago. To be honest, the only reason I bought it is because my son loves pistachios and was dying to try it, so we got some. It was definitely better than most deli meat, and I love that it didn't cost as much as most unusual meats do.

Fried bologna sandwiches were pretty common when I was a kid - we fried up about equal parts onion/bologna, served with mustard. Pretty good.

Giblet gravy. Every Thanksgiving, I do the majority of the cooking. Everyone has to have their pansy, watered down gravy. I have to have the real stuff, full of giblets. It looks like hell, but it tastes so much better. Especially loaded up with neck meat.

It's actually less fatty then regular bologna. I've fried it a few times too, and it's not bad at all.

top ramen.

people think i only eat it because im poor but i love the taste of it. let it boil for an extra few minutes and it gets soft and then you take regular tortilla chips and scoop it up.
I'm convinced that a lot of people dog ramen just to dog it, because the ****'s delicious. I actually got excited when they started coming in the big package with the dried vegetables and liquid flavoring instead of powder. It was like a 99 cent gourmet meal

Stuffed cabbage is another food I love that a lot of people either don't like, or won't admit to liking. My wife claims it's the irish in me, she can't even stand to look at it lol.

Black pudding is killer too. I've never gotten anyone to try it when I've made it, mainly because it has blood in it. It's a shame too, because it's a bitch to make, and not worth making more than once a year since nobody else will eat it.

Ramen is delicious because its filled with MSG and like a million grams of sodium. Terrible for you!

Love stuffed cabbage, but have had it done in Polish / Jewish style most often. My friend with the restaurant also make it, but not sure of the style being he's cooked all over Europe.

Dam, that's something I haven't had in a dogs age. Blood pudding / sausage.

Thank God dinner is almost ready. This thread gets me hungry every time I view it.....
