Confirmed Signings

Keep hearing that the Skins had a monster offer on the table for Holmes, but he turned it down in order to stay with the Jets. Just doesn't feel right, with this new approach to FA the Skins seem to be taking...

Listening to the BS Report now, and that's what Lombardi says. If true, I'm glad we didn't offer that same money to Braylon, or whoever the next best WR was on our board. It appears we are learning, somewhat.

A Blondie sighting...

She sent a tweet to Torain and wished him well in camp.

The fulcrum on RT is Jammal Brown. If the Skins are convinced he's healed, they're going to have to make a strong effort to re-sign him. Man might be the best FA RT (heh) out there if he's back up to speed. Certainly they have a Plan B if Brown either is not recovered enough OR is asking too much $$, but my guess (hope) is that they think he is ready to go and are working on the numbers.
I worry that the longer we wait, the bigger the chance our Plan B (Ryan Harris from Denver, I assume) will sign somewhere else. That could lead to us missing out on both Brown and Harris. I'd hate for that to happen.

Also, I hope whatever OL signings we execute in FA this year are done with an eye on drafting the REAL talent/starters in next years draft. Enough of patching together a line with old vets. We need young, stud linemen.

The first of many moves to add 16 roster spots to get to 90.

The NFL has now implied that the Eagles could've been tampering with Vince Young. Will the Titans file a complaint?

What's the point? The Titans were not disposed to keeping Young in any event, so its no skin off their nose. Because everybody talks to everybody in the NFL the only time you see tampering charges is when the team holding a player wants to retain him.

I am still trying to understand the Kellen Clemens signing. With Rex and Chappell in camp there are enough qbs to run the drills and the team is unlikely to carry a #3 making $1M.

If the Cowboys somehow land Asomugha, does their secondary scare you?

Think about it. :)

That's where I keep hoping we will see the Shanahan genius. I keep praying one of these UDFA will come in and shine. Shanny has a proven track record of finding late round gems for the OLine. Defense drafting has not been so kind, but OLine? Got some success there, and I'm hoping it translates here as well.

Any idea what the asking price is? Not really for us, I don't see him as a great fit in the 3-4, just curious.

It wouldn't be the Titans, it would be the Redskins or some other team that was looking into his services. Although, I'm sure they all tampered, so probably no complaint will be forthcoming.

Not sure, but we could get Neo and Boone to grill up some fried ham sammiches. :)

Earlier today, a report said that Atlanta may be interested.

They are going to have to release or restructure more players deals to afford his contract.

Dallas has taken a step back with the aging of their OL, poor decisions on Williams and Bryant at WR as well as a lack of depth in the front seven.

"Scott" Brunell was released by the Jets. This is it for him.

Sam Hurd to the Bears. Cowboys losing players right and left. Time to see what's available at North Richland Hills High School or Plano Community College. :)

how can the saints release reggie bush and then turn around and sign someone smaller than him? he said he would have restructured his deal.

logic at its finest.

Don't forget they drafted Mark Ingram.

Via Grant Paulsen twitter:
Learned that Dan Snyder was not at Redskins Park over the last 3 days while the team was busy making moves. Has actually been out of town.

Dang. Mike and Bruce are better than we thought! :cool4:

Remember though that Donte Stallworth was a player Dan wanted to trade for several years ago.

Maybe Mike made the move to pay homage to his boss? :)
