This is confirmed - good find Lanky. He is 35 and was brought in to help with learning the system. Doubt he would've made the team and he knows it. No big deal - can't miss what you didn't have anyway.

Hard to believe Jenkins will be in the house after the Cofield signing and the drafting of Jenkins. He's a talented player but is 30 and has a pretty long injury history for big dollars.

I agree that with the release of Rabach that the signing of an OL like Joseph may be in the offing.

Awwww man, that sucks! Any chance they make him some type of assistant coach? I think he'd do well in that area.

I dunno. I mean, I agree on the leadership role. But his performance has been lagging and he's getting pretty long in the tooth... Add to that the connections to the old systems... It's time.

This is the first one that hurts. I was sad to see Portis go because of what he did for us on the field but this one hurts. Phil was great presence everywhere.
 
I wanted to soften the blow, but not be the one to break the news. Thanks Lanky.

Need to preface something here. My son in law knows PD and he let it slip one day a few months ago that this was a strong possibility. I am not an insider by any stretch of the imagination, but this is one I had to sit on for obvious reasons. I tried to put it out there several times for everyone at BGO to see (when saying what could happen) and let you know that this was possible. Like many of you, it hurts - PD is a great man and is one of the good guys.

I hope you understand. And on to more signings and news of the day.

Sounds like the Redskins will be releasing several veterans today. Wonder if they bring in Cullen Jenkins?
 
Another move on the DL is all but assured now that both Daniels and Kemoeatu have been released. I still doubt that Jenkins is the guy though.

You would figure that the Redskins would have gone after Jenkins hard on Day 1 if they were looking for him to be their starting DE.
