Wylie is another that can play anywhere but center and a nice piece to have and it was him and Coleman that were our swing tackle/guards but what i meant is that, yes Coleman is now the starting left tackle and we still have two reasonably adequate backup tackles in case Coleman or connerly go down.

When we replaced biadasz with alligretti our plan for backup was wholly inadequate and its biting using the ass right now.

That's been the thought with Wylie but he has not received good reviews from playing G which is supposed to be his best position. We know he can play T but really isn't good at it.

True, but we are talking about Wylie who has a lengthy resume of success at G and some at T. He has been a steady and versatile player who is expected to be good not great at G and a warm body at T

Our backup center is on the roster, he's just had a sore calf for most of the summer. We haven't had a starting center, though, since February 26.

Apparently Gulbin was awful yesterday in the scrimmage -- both as to his snaps and blocking. So I gather they will try to get him on the practice sqaud.

I think they need to sign both a backup guard and center.

By really everyone watching camp, the two best O lineman are Cosmi and Coleman. Paul supposedly has struggled. Whomever who has played center has struggled. And Conerly has been up and down but overall nothing hot from those watching camp.

It would be one thing if that same O line looked great in joint practices or in the preseason but they haven't -- so I am taking the criticism of the line play in camp very seriously.

While its disturbing to me that they still had an hankering to the idea that they were fine in house at center -- the fact that it blew up in their face again, just like it did versus the Lions in the recent preseason game -- I hope is the kicker that they realize they need to look elsewhere.

I have no doubt that with the Tunsil injury and Allegretti's nagging issues, that Peters has been looking for help for awhile. They have added OL depth already. I think our position at center is untenable and that waiver wire signings (or possibly even a significant trade) are impending. We tend to assume our Front Office is doing nothing because they don't tell us what they are doing. We need to remember that wanting to make a move to bolster a position, and being able to make a move to bolster a position are two different things. I have heard concern in Quinn and Daniels voices in recent days. I'm sure AP gets it and is also concerned. We'll see what they are able to do to address the need in the short-term without making a panic move that may not serve us well long-term. I think that is always where the tension lies.

Yeah I don't think any FO is doing nothing, they are always poking around and exploring. But its clear that this regime had some confidence that they can ride with the status quo at center -- but they'd have to have their head in the sand if they didn't realize their confidence is proven to be unfounded. It happens.

Like I said in a previous post, the we got the solutions in house to a stubborn extent reminds me some of the Rivera era. But i do think Peters is learning.
