Was there not a ES member whose name was the actual name of a breakfast cereal : Special K ?

Great thread.
I like so many that I can't choose just one.
Here are a few of them in no particular order..Cap'n Crunch,(all of 'em), Chex,(all of 'em), Special K, Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Life, Rice Krispies. They're all legendary in my mind!

Sugar Pops

That's a good one. I always felt like I was eating 'teeth' when I had that cereal because they were kind of shaped like them, lol... good cereal though...

Don’t know if you looked at the ad, but it had Andy Devine and Micky Dolenz in it.

:)

Lol. 'Chock full of sugar through and through...' - what every mother dreams of...

My experience with that and my mother, was quite paradoxical.

On one hand, my mother was the way you described - she refused to buy any of those sugary-excess cereals.
On the other hand, every morning for breakfast, when she brought out the "normal" cereal boxes, she would leave a
sugar bowl on the table with a lid and spoon, for us to add our own.

So we had free reign, on just dousing the cereals with sugar.
I probably had at least a couple tablespoons in each bowl, maybe more, in addition to the sugar already in the cereal.
Ironically, my cereal ended up with certainly more sugar, than the inherently sugary cereals she refused to buy !

No doubt, that affected my daily behavior, in and out of school.

Special K & I did not get along well, if anyone remembers those years.

I was forced to eat oatmeal (grossest shit on earth).

Favorite? Golden Grahams or Froot Loops.
I could have lived on Golden Grahams.

Fruit Loops was overly sweet for me.
