Random Commanders Thoughts

Also, Skattebo and Dart have shown similar arrogance to Harbaugh which have further fueled the NY media

Skattebo is perfectly for a pound and ground offense, but I can't see how he's ready. I am looking forward to this match up. Dart really struggled against the Flores defense last year.

The only thing to me improved with the Giants is their O line, out of nowhere it was sneaky good last year, now it might be the best in the division aside from Philly. But even that demands often injured Andrew Thomas stays healthy.
As I was reading this line I thought to myself "Until Thomas gets hurt..." and then BAM! There is was! 🤣

the PFF chart I posted yesterday had them worse than our OL, but not by much. I am much happier they took Maiugoa than Downs. I think someone like Downs would be huge for their defense.
With Harbaugh, he's a good coach. I don't know if he's a great coach. Will find out. He's benefitted from having one of the best run FO in the NFL and consistently so for eons.

He's not a strategist-play caller. He's the culture builder.
He's a rich-man's Rivera. I know that's wishcasting, but dammit, someone else in this division needs to feel that pain.

My not so bold prediction: The Giants under Harbaugh are going to be dramatically improved.

You guys don't want to hear it, but I think it's likely.

I would take John Harbaugh over Dan Quinn in a New York minute.

Not to hard to have a dramatic improvement from a 4 win season with a new competent staff and infusing talent

I don't think there are many that think DQ > Harbaugh

He's a damned good coach. He has a 180-113 record over 18 years of NFL head coaching, he has a winning playoff record, and a Super Bowl title to his name. He is the 8th most winning active head coach in the NFL.

Harbaugh has to be the most interesting coach in the world.

-Stay thirsty my friend

Since 2013:

Division titles…Harbaugh 4, Rivera 4
AP COY…Harbaugh 1, Rivera 2

Cherry picked stats I know. I’m not saying he’s anywhere near as bad as Rivera, but John Harbaugh is an overrated coach still living off a lucky Super Bowl win that was more than 15 years ago. He has benefited from a stacked roster his entire career thanks to the ravens great front office and ownership. Add to that a 2 time MVP superstar QB and you would expect a lot more success than what they’ve had. Arguably Lamar’s career has been squandered under his leadership. I know a lot of ravens fans, and not a single one of them is saying dang I wish we didn’t lose Harbaugh.

10 years ago I likely would’ve agreed he’s one of the better coaches in the league, but he has gone downhill since and/or the game is starting to pass him by. I’m not worried one bit about him going to New York… The Giants will still suck.

My dislike of them mostly stems from the "Spirit of the Cap" BS. Much as Snyder is a rat, Mara was even bigger one for that nonsense.
Mara is a slimy - as they say in NY - rat ba$@!)%, but he is just the icing on the cake for me. I have loathed the Giants since 1986 season. Their fans. Their media. Later on Phil Simms arrogant and condescending crap toward the Skins in the announcers booth.

For a number of seasons in my fandom, I have hated the Giants the most out the NFC East. The only thing that has lessened that is they have been garbage for over a decade and Philly fans and team are insufferable with their success this century. As soon at the Giants are competitive again I am sure I will be back to a passionate hatred of them.

Philly is an interesting team. The fans are hateable but the players often are not. In this recent incarnation, Siriani makes them extremely dislikable, but I don't really have issues with Sequan, Hurts, etc. Sadly, New York may have also moved up on the rival scale because both our teams have been terrible. We just haven't been on Philly's level for a while. I do think Dallas, despite all the fawning from the national media, has been pretty close to the Redskins level of disappointment over the past twenty years.

Same here and I see them being competitive and media grabbers this year. That means their overly obnoxious fans will be popping out of hibernation

As a coach, Harbaugh has won three playoff games since 2016.

He's a good coach, and I'm sure the Giants will be better than 4 wins (it's statistically improbable to be worse than that), but if Harbaugh couldn't get over the hump with the best FO in the NFL and an MVP-winning QB, then I'm not sure why people expect the the Giants to be a juggernaut with Jaxson Dart under center.

He's a nice coach, like Mike McCarthy. Basically, the same records too. Both of them had top notch front offices in Green Bay and Baltimore. I think Harbaugh won't work out. There may be a beginning of the year sugar rush, but they'll be 6-11 or 7-10.

Hi all. New here. Switched from another commanders messageboard because they, for some goofy reason, don’t allow me to share my twitter arguments between me and idiot eagles fans with people there 🙄 even though all I’m doing is trying to get people to point and laugh at the idiocy with me.

Well, we agree... Eagles Suck

But my contrarian opinion is that Im a Jerry Jones fan because he's the new Al Davis and the Cowboys deserve him.

I should at no point be subjected to reading the illiterate ramblings of any Eagles fan online (who must surely be abusing voice-to-text to make themselves even half-understood). They were right to ostracize you!

😈

Dart ain’t shit. He folds under pressure, saw it numerous times at Ole Miss. He had a nice little 5-6 game run but he isn’t going to be their long term option. And I also love how the media forgets to mention he was in concussion protocol in literally half of their games. He’s more careless than Jayden is with half the talent. I’m not concerned about Dart and Skat long term. Dart is classic case of flashy with no substance. All bark, no bite. His meltdown against a mediocre Florida squad two seasons ago with the playoffs on the line was something to behold. He will crash hard, just watch.
