My guess is that Chaison think he's got a chance at a BIG contract and would have turned down a two-year offer, too. I do hope that we turn some of these prove-its into long term contracts.Some of us have banged the drum for signing FA's to multiyear contracts opposed to so many one year deals. (yes some one year deals serve a purpose)
The below article explains how the team looked to improve the D, getting them younger and faster. One of many key signings was Chaisson. The article hits on he turning down a good 3 year deal to come here for one year. Why not make that a two year deal, match the 3 year or add an optional 2nd year? Seems the guy wanted to be in Washington.
