The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

There isn't anything in particular that stands out to not like the kid other than the fact he faced inconsistent competition at Rutgers.

I don't know those stats hold up for him in terms of TD/INT ratio and QBR in the SEC, etc.

Kicker is the one common thread between this administration and those that preceded it.

We have had Tress Way but have never been able to find a kicker that can maintain a consistently high level of play to pair with him.

Responding to Bulldog...

I mean there are two dominant conferences in college football, the Big 10 and SEC and he played in the Big 10. The last three national champions are from teh Big 10, Michigan in 2023, Ohio State in 2024, and Indiana for the 2025 season. The SEC probably is a tick ahead of the Big 10 in overall player quality, but the gap between them is significantly smaller than the gap between the Big 10 and the ACC and Big 12 in my opinion.

Glad you brought this up.

Shows exactly my thoughts about how disappointing the 2024 draft was for me at the time after Daniels selection.

Guys like Sinnott were projected to be taken 2 or even 3 rounds later than we took them.

Sainristil was not a better prospect ranked than Cooper DeJean.

McCaffrey was a wide receiver that was transitioning to the position from quarterback and we took him in the top 100?

These were all things some questioned at the time and for good reason.
