The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

I could see taking a flyer on Lorenzo Styles Jr. late in the draft. We could use a developmental corner and that 4.27 speed is crazy. This is a cool piece about the Styles brothers:

I’m looking at a C, S/NB and TE. If there’s a guy they like in the 4th, they should package one of our 6ths with our 5th to get that guy, whether it be Scott, Brailford or someone else

Still some noteable names left. Although I can’t see them lasting until 147. Maybe Singleton falls at RB, Prysock or Masses at CB, Kilgore at S (long shot). Should be a number of options at C and maybe Caldwell at WR is worth a gamble for his traits.

I’m trading up and I’d use next year’s 3rd if it gets me to the top of the 4th.

Be aggressive and get Scott or Kilgore. Is there a ‘day 2 graded’ receiver left ? A 2027 3rd is more prudent than throwing $$ at a vet.

I’d also be looking for a RB, DT, K

Let’s get 5 players on day 3 somehow.

I’d absolutely move Payne on for multiple high day 3 picks too.

Center, safety, and corner for me in terms of needs. Honestly though, rounds 5-7 should be best player. I'm looking for players who can grow into a position and have traits/qualities that you want to invest in. I'm not looking for immediate starters (except maybe at center.) My fear with DB is that we may be in a lot of trouble if anyone gets hurt. Feels like we have zero depth. Starterwise, I think we'll manage. We're not great though I do hope Mike bounces back and Amos continues to progress. Our room feels like one whose ceiling is low though. I don't expect to fix that on Day 3, but maybe we can still fill the ranks with players who will start on special teams and can be coached up to contribute if someone gets hurt.

I'm not for trading up if it means using 2027 picks. I want Peters to finally have a full boat.

I also wouldn’t mind this. Who is our backup TE pass catcher if Chig goes down. And he’s young is super athletic by measurement, also moves very well, and was pretty productive.

That's been my guy, sad to see him go in the third.

It's IMO a really good TE class. But I am guessing they don't take one.

Watched a few full games of Williams today and so by proxy I watched Randall. I'm not enamored with him by any means... but he shows some good vision.

He's a good athlete. I had read some scouting reports previously that said he ran with a low pad level, but not sure I saw a lot of that. He's kind of an upright runner, but maybe it's just the games I watched. He gets a lot of yards after contact. He's a return guy. Good speed. Didn't look great in pass pro, though he is willing. Watched one rep where he met an A-gap blitzer at the LoS and popped him. He didn't stop the rush, though, which was weird considering he was attacking the LoS from an angle and has good size and power generally. He's not quick twitch, he's not a receiving threat.

If we took a late flier on him okay - I see potential. But he is kind of a limited back.

Singleton has his flaws but he'd be a blast IMO here. Need some homerun hitters here.

Emmett Johnson, not explosive, but can do it all, and they met with him.

Brugler's Best Available (I use him because I like his live tracker best... )

We pick 147, 187, 209, 223 - so a lot of these guys are going to be long gone.

Quick glance of guys still available I have interest in:

Keionte Scott, S, Miami
Elijah Sarratt, WR, Indiana
Jalon Kilgore, S, South Carolina
Sam Hecht, C, Kansas State
Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma
Emmett Johnson, RB, Nebraska
Cole Payton, QB, North Dakota State
Ephesians Prysock, CB, Washington
Caden Curry, Edge, Ohio State
Rayshaun Benny, DT, Michigan
Kaleb Proctor, DT, Southeast Louisiana
Reggie Virgil, WR, Texas Tech
Michael Taafe, S, Texas
Josh Cuevas, TE, Alabama
Michael Trigg, TE, Baylor (There are some issues here, he'd be a project. But he's got the best physical skillset of any TE but he stinks as a blocker for such a big guy)
Isaiah World, T, Oregon
Harold Perkins Jr, LB, LSU
Tanner Koziol, TE, Houston
Hezekiah Masses, CB, Cal
Nadame Tucker, Edge, Western Michigan
Lorenzo Styles, DB, Ohio State
Nick Singleton, RB, Penn State

Trying to project who is going to be left in the 5th. And what they would consider. I wouldn't touch Triggs and I doubt they would, too. Love a TE, Ill throw some names out shortly, but be surprised they take one.

Corners and safeties: Prysock, Demmings, Wheatley, Ramsey, Taaffee.

centers: Brailsford, Lew (if healthy)

I'd 100% take Trigg in the 7th/UDFA. I wouldn't use a 5th on him.

Though, ultimately I'm not sure it ever really clicks for the guy. He has too many effort issues for me to be terribly comfortable. But he is worth a late round/UDFA flier. If it clicks, he will be a damned good tight end. His floor is under the basement. Ceiling is among the highest of the tight end class. But, to be fair, if I were a betting man, I'd bet he likely lands closer to his floor than his ceiling.

RAS Update under Peters:

Interestingly enough we have our new high in RAS with Sonny Styles and our new low in RAS with Antonio Williams (Bill was previous low at 8.29, Coleman was previous high at 9.97)

I would add Coogan to that list of OC

i'm gonna go against the grain and say one of our top needs is QB3. need to get rid of hartman and go anti-hartman - terrible hair and/or hairline.

I'd by lying if I said I've watched these centers, aside from some of Slaughter and Logan Jones.

Coogan seems like one of the slower centers in this group. so if they are looking for run blocking-outside zone, I wonder but don't know.

Brailsford, supposedly is an outside zone beast, albiet a bit undersized.

But got no clue, at least there are some options.

I did put Cole Payton on my list. I think the team would like guys like Taylen Green and the guy with the long Greek name that I can’t remember for the life of me off the top of my head.

I’d enjoy us drafting/UDFA signing Jalon Daniels from Kansas… just for the laughs. He’s also not horrible and might be a development kind of dude.

I was thinking Jalon Daniels, recently, tbh too. just because of the name lol.

Yeah as i go back and look, I had one thing in my mind but went back and looked at some of the break downs and he isn’t as good in space.
