But for me there are like 12 or so WRs in that 2nd tier who to me are either boom-bust or one dimensional. Hurst in that group.

You were asking what is Antonio's super power? It's not his highlights. You got to watch his full games. And he simply gets open again and again and again, especially on the first-2nd level. Screens, hitches, slants, crossers. Inside the numbers, outside the numbers.

Like Bernard he does everything well, not a superstar, but steady good. Good releases. Good with YAC. Good blocker. Good route runner.

He's polished and not raw.

There are defintely others with more upside. But for me if you are fishing in that 2nd tier group -- i don't want boom bust or a WR who does one thing well and fits some sort of committee idea. Give me a dude that is a good-steady seperator who can get open especially against zone.

I’ve been maybe the only guy saying i completely understand why they didn’t cut him for cap savings. And saying it since October.

I’m not a huge Payne fan but I think he’s better than replacement level and honestly has only had one DC who sometimes knew the difference between his ass and his elbow, and that was Jack. Who wasn’t great either, but was probably still the best DC we’ve had since Gregg Williams. All of Gruden’s DCs were morons. And Whitt was witless.

So I have a slightly higher opinion of Payne.

But if you could trade him for a 3rd or 4th? I mean, do it now.

Actually, that sounds pretty good to me. Sounds like Peters decided to go for the polished guy over the RAS guy this time. Probably speaks to what we all know. WR is in really bad shape. He wanted someone who was not a project.

I disagree. Physically he's not tiny, but his on-field size/frame fits perfect as a slot. His whole game fits the slot profile. Why fuck around?

I don't think we will. I'm going to tell myself he will be a pure slot and all will be okay. And I'm going to believe myself. Because if I can't believe me who can I believe?

Circling way back, one thing I've noticed about Peters is he tends to be very decisive on the clock. He sends his picks in early. We saw that a lot in 2025 and again with the Styles pick. He'll leave minutes on the board.

With this third rounder, he let the clock run under ten seconds. I really think he was trying his best to trade down but just couldn't get a deal that he wanted.
