I like Williams but really didn’t think we’d take him over other available guys because he feels more like a slot. Shorter area moves. Thought we’d prefer more of a vertical, larger threat.

So…McCaffrey and Lane can just get fucked then? What are we doing. I really don’t see either of them as potential answers outside but I could have seen one of them developing into a slot threat

I think McCaffery actually would be better outside if they would just put him there and let him develop there.

I think they totally screwed up year 1 by asking him to learn all the positions and also ST.

They needed to just pick a spot and let him learn that one spot.

I put that on Quinn and Kliff.

I think if they just stick him in one spot he has the athletic ability and size to be really good.

I think the way they’ve handled him has been criminal.

Uh, I know who Isaiah Simmons is. He is literally nothing like Styles on film. How much have you watched them play?

He wanted the LSU guy and is now upset. I get it. If we didn't need receivers I'd be sadface that we didn't pick Scott. But life goes on and we needed a receiver.

There aren’t a lot of LSU guys I wanted from this draft. Mansoor and Haulcy were it. Some of you draft “gurus” are insufferable.

Allar to Pittsburgh makes a ton of sense. PSU alum and fan here. Allar is hit and miss. But he had awful offensive coaching in college. Good leader and person.

You sure you're not thinking of Reese? He's a lot closer to the style of player that Simmons was.

Well. Is this the third year in a row the have picked a WR in the third?

McCaffery, Lane and now Williams?

Should be a good competition between those 3 third rounders, plus Dyami, Burks, and Jefferson. Plenty of unrealized potential there.

This may not be a popular view, but I’ll take the best 3 or 4 from that group of 6 plus Terry and another veteran (Aiyuk, Deebo, or FA vet).

You don't like our draft analysis. That's okay. You have an opinion. That's okay. But how about relaxing on being so aggressive about everything? It's nice to have opposing viewpoints around.

Will Williams provide some of what St. Brown does in Detroit in your opinion, SIP?

Different type of player. Jayden is a timing based passer. Throw it to a spot. You want WRs who are polished route runners who can seperate on the first level and 2nd level consistently. That's this guy.

So many of these 2nd tier WRs are projects, one dimensional, etc. I want a guy who can hit the ground running and help Jayden now. I must have posted like 50 times Bernard and Antonio Williams are those guys. Just 5 minutes ago i posted he's my top guy left. But I didn't think they'd take him because no ties-rumors connected to him.

Maybe a cross of St. Brown and Crowder? Think of him as Crowder if Crowder was faster, had better hands and was better blocker and better with YAC.

As much as I crapped on this WR situation, if they add Aiyuk to this guy, I am good. IMO he's going to be a good slot WR righjt away. I didn't feel that way about most of these 2nd tier WRs -- to me it was Bernard and Antonio who I kept saying were the most well rounded, consistent WRs in that tier who I trusted to make an impact immeidately.

But the 49ers will string that out as long as they can.

Idk. They drafted a WR and after no one trades for Aiyuk tomorrow, I think they will be ready to turn the page soon

Antonio Williams draft profile puts him right in that window for Blough to call plays that they did in Detroit for St. Brown.

Since Blough no doubt contributed to this pick directly and the WR position is largely wide open behind Terry, this is a guy that COULD see some regular time in 2026.
