Chris Bell might not be on the draft board given his knee injury.

I agree but… might be worth the risk/stash long term. If he’s healthy next year and we somehow land one of Smith/Coleman/Marsh/Moore? Cooking with fire.

I get it (especially if say Jermod McCoy is the stash pick), but how do we help Jayden this year.

Is Bell being stashed worth more than Year 1 help from say Fields? I don't think so personally. Not even WR related, but I feel like there are probably other prospects close enough to Bell available at #71 that we should just take instead and have a full year of them being healthy and developing in-house who also hopefully contribute some in Year 1. I don't know, I don't think Bell is quite worthy of a stash pick, but maybe the team evaluators think otherwise.

You’re preaching to the choir on helping Jayden this year. But if Bell is there at 71 he is likely the BPA. There is belief that he may be cleared and ready by camp.

If AP sticks to RAS being a deal breaker - yes. I hope he knows RAS isn’t everything but his overall strategy suggests Sarratt isn’t a real option.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that Louisville WR Chris Bell “is ahead of schedule in his ACL recovery and expected to be ready by training camp.”

Two days ago, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also reported that Bell is ahead of schedule. Bell tore his ACL on November 22nd, 2025. On December 10th, 2025, ESPN reported that he was set to undergo ACL reconstruction later that week. Returning by late July would be roughly seven months post-op. Players often return from ACL reconstruction 9-12 months post-op. We don’t know what to make of the return projection, but we are happy to hear his rehab program is going well. Schultz adds that Bell is a player to watch on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft.

We can use our #1 pick in 2027 on a wide receiver 1 and may very well need to do so with Terry's contract status a question mark.

So, the future is there at a high level if we choose to go in that direction.

No reason to compromise this upcoming season.

You guys are absolutely killing me. There are SEVERAL receivers on the board that would be damned close to BPA at 71 if they fall there. Will they? Who knows. But the corners, safeties, guards, centers, and everything else may not either. This is such a wide gap between now and our pick.

I don’t get how you can lock in on positions, leave the one with our biggest need out, and assume that the other positions high end players will be there but not the receivers.

It’s almost like you guys really don’t think we need receivers.

I mean, I guess if Washington feels like Chris Bell is healthy, the knee is good, then maybe they do look at drafting Deebo Jr. - but I feel like we usually see Peters taking guys they've actually met with, especially in the top half of the draft, and I can't find anything about them connecting in any way with a Bell not named Skyler among the 30+ receivers they've had reported meetings of some kind with.

My take on the receivers still avaliable ranked:

7. Germie Bernard -- 2nd round -- does everything well, nothing great at any one thing but very steady, high floor, can hit the ground running day 1.

8. Anotinio Williams -- 2nd round -- a rich man's Jamison Crowder. Also high floor. Very polished. Can hit the ground running day 1.

9. Elijah Sarratt -- 2nd-3rd round -- not sexy, not the best separator, but consistently gets the job done, good hands, great in the red zone, high charater

10. De-Zhaun Stribling -- 2nd-3rd round round. Explosive, great tools. Poor man's Concepcion, not as explosive but more physical than him, good blocker

11. Ted Hurst -- 2nd-3rd round -- Smooth, for a tall guy has some twitch, hands catcher, good athlete. I like his upside.

12. Chris Brazzell -- 2nd-3rd round -- A poor man's Alec Pierce. Similar to Hurst stylistically. Read recently he has character issues, if so he's lower on my list.

13. Skyler Bell -- 3rd round. He's fun YAC player, good hands, really underrated, insane 3 cone numbers, not a sexy pick but I'd dig it.

14. Deion Burks -- 3rd round -- underrated, sort of a quicker-faster but not as smooth route runner as Antonio Williams. Small but strong/

15. Ja'Kobi Lane 3rd-4th -- poor man's Carnell Tate, smooth, some personality issues, good catch radius, good athlete.

16. Malachi Fields 3rd-4th. Overrated as a contested catcher, but he has underrated hands, deep threat. Taller Noah Brown. High floor-low ceiling.

17. Zachriah Branch 3rd-4th. Overrated by Kiper and McShay IMO. A rich man's Jayiln Lane. Very physical YAC player but if we are doing that, why not a more well rounded version of it like Stribling or Bell?

16. Brenan Thompson -- 4th. Aldrick Robinson? One note-speed threat - but his speed is special. And not bad at tracking the deep ball

17. Bryce Lance -- 4th. Physical freak but very raw and older prospect. A taller Brenan Thompson?

I think no shot Stowers is at 71.

Delp made my guys list. Georgia didn't feature him much -- but he can do it all, moves well, YAC blocks. Klare similar, more polished receiver, better blocker, but not YAC.

I doubt they go TE but if that's what you are thinking Sam Roush in this range. Justin Jolly.

Height is a speed rusher -- purely 3rd down pass rushing specialist but he's a handful. I'd love him at 71.

I haven't watched him but they have met a lot with Everette. Also Jalon Kilgore.
