Isn’t McCoy regarded as the clear #1 CB…..if you can live with the ACL

Trevor Sikkema was part of the firings at PFF yesterday. It definitely feels like PFF is leaning away from public facing side of the business and into the team focus side of the business.

Yeah I saw all of that. PFF isn't perfect but a fun tool, i am going to miss it. And Sikkema and probably McShay to me are the two most entertaining draft guys for me.

Hollowed out and destroyed by private equity like basically every other acquired business. It started a while ago but now they’ve almost entirely cut out the actual talent that built them into what they are. I’m sure they’ll make a bunch of money in the short term and then within a couple years go out of business entirely after stripping the team-facing portion of the operation and selling it off.
 
I'm going to start with this. Of our 8 known Top 30 visits, here's the breakdown. We've mostly done CB's.

Last year, we don't really know who we were discussing with our 1st rounder besides Conerly. But the team did say Trey Amos was in the conversation. The team has historically valued CB's highly.
  • 2nd rounder in 2024
  • Traded a 3rd rounder (via Jahan Dotson Trade) & 4th rounder in 2025 for Marshon Lattimore
  • 2nd rounder in 2025 (in discussion to be the 1st rounder)
  • We have a new defensive scheme that has in the past de-prioritized corners but...
    • 3 of our 8 known Top 30 visits are corners
    • Vikings defense still paid 1 corner premium money, the rest were bargain shopping
If McCoy's 2024 season happened in 2025, he would be the #2 pick in the draft.

But he had that 2024 season at just 19 years old! If the medical staff green lights McCoy, he's BPA for me over most of the guys we're talking about. I really think we need to improve offense, but there are only a few Blue Chips in the draft. For me, that's just Love on offense. If Love is gone, and McCoy gets the green light, then he's BPA.

I think Delane and McCoy might be higher up on the Commanders draft boards than we're anticipating.

Well need to be a very good draft. So much expectations after on such an 2024 season. So much for a letdown. Need a bounce back year 2026.

Fair criticism and explains Branch’s low contested %. Because like 53% of his targets are at the LOS which is absurd
 
If Love falls to us, what would it take for you to trade the pick and please be real. Don't just say something gigantic. What is the minimum you would trade him for. It's a little hard to say because you don't know how far back is the trade team coming from. I would be open to trading him for a big splash move.

There’s a world where both corners go before our pick. So Mendoza, Bailey, Delane, McCoy…

Means only two of: Tate, Love, Downs, Styles, Reese are potentially off the board. And Cleveland may go OT still.

I’m. It saying that’s the case but this draft is lacking blue chip players at premiums…now there’s two.

Man I just can't see McCoy going that high. I know that Tyson has had more injuries but at least we've seen him play and dominate after his major injuries and everyone has him dropping because of it. I can't see McCoy going in the top 6 without having played a snap since his injury, even with a great pro day. With that being said. I would be fine with us drafting him.... Lol

But I have always said that I would be fine with Tyson also. Still, AP doesn't seem like he would take a chance with either

Absolutely. Let's not forget everyone the 2022 NFL draft where nobody thought corners would go this high yet both Stingley and Sauce went Top 5.

Every team has slightly different valuations based on scheme/fit/mentality/medicals etc but a true Blue Chip? If they think somebody is one, they're pouncing.
