Random Commanders Thoughts

Cool story, Gabe Taylor is currently playing (on ESPN) for the DC Defenders, wearing no. 21.

We all love BW but I think bringing him back is problematic. First of all, are we willing to sit a future HOFer down and have the conversation 'Look BW - you are a great player, but your skills are diminishing and we would only be able to use you in a limited, scoped way - are you okay with that?'. In all probability, a player with his pride and accomplishments is not going to be okay with it, assuming we have the balls to actually have that conversation. The other reason I would move on is that we are (whether Quinn and AP every will admit it publicly) a rebuilding team. Roster spots are invaluable. I would much rather have that roster spot empty to allow us to keep a 5th or 6th round pick on the team than have it taken by a great former player who will play no role in our future success.

As impressive a career resume as Bobby Wagner has accumulated, he is at the stage of his career where he may have to settle for the get in where he can fit in role, unless he finds a team that has an absolute gap at MLB position.

RG3’s tweet about the flag football team made me full eye roll at least 5 times.
I can’t find it online anymore and I think she deleted the Instagram post from years ago, but there was a cast member named Sierra on Below Deck Sailing Yatch who rolled her eyes so hard and then said “sorry, did I just roll my eyes out loud?”

I used to have that gif saved. I might have to go try and find it. It was perfect.

Musk-less twitter? 🤷‍♂️
They even stole the logo and made it a butterfly.

I’m glad I’m old and this stuff doesn’t matter to me much.

I don’t know the political machinations at play (and I don’t care and this isn’t the place for that) but have a Twitter as a replacement for Twitter which is now X is too much for my old man brain to handle.

Politically they are both echo-chambers. It just depends on your particular favored flavor. I don’t use social media for political discourse. For my purposes, that are predominantly sports related, I stick to the ‘for you’ lane and X/Twitter is very good for that.

And while there are a bunch of sports folks who have started posting on Bluesky, they haven’t stopped posting on X.

Other industries have, like a lot of film types and associated media have left X and gone to bluesky.

But for sports, X seems to still be the superset and all the other social media outlets are subsets.
