You’re banking on Bain to break the mold of short armed DE’s being elite at the next level which hasn’t happened…ever. No power DEs under 31 have even made a pro bowl. And then he didn’t test fully at the combine, so really unsure of just how athletically gifted he is. If he’s a freak like Aaron Donald, then maybe but even then he’s being drafted at DE, not DT. Arm length matters considerably at DE and offensive tackle. Just too many question marks. I just don’t think we should gamble on that. Most NFL offensive tackles are 34’ minimum and they’re grown men, not Johnny come lately at Wake Forest. Any successful edge with short arms similar..like a Melvin Ingram for example played lighter and faster than Bain, had about 30 less lbs on the frame.
Did Bain face any projected first round tackles this season? Honest question.
