The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I know and it feels like I'm always picking on you when it comes to Bill. I think it's just the role you take on here at BGO.

For what it's worth, I think pass pro can be picked up and improved upon. Hands... I'm not so sure. Still, if a RB can train his hands not to fumble then he ought to be able to improve as a pass catcher.

In short, I want them to shoot high everywhere. And I loved the JCM pick at the time, loved it.

I am not quite at the height of KDawg about how RB is a top need with this team. But I get his perspective.

A great running game is a QB's best friend. Remember how good RG3 was with Alfred Morris? Russell Wilson in his heyday had big time RBs. Look at how SF played with or without McCaffrey. NE drafts Treveyon Henderson. Look at who Penix gets to play with.

JCM is a nice RB by Washington standards. We haven't had much arguably since Clinton Portis and a short good run from A. Morris.

If we want a SB, IMO we need to aim higher -- especially in the playoffs, cold weather, you want a RB who can take over a game.

Pass pro is actually really difficult to be good at. It’s the hardest for a back.

You have to understand defensive schemes, play with sound technique and have the ass to take on a 250lb freight train.

Receiving is much easier to improve.

Vision is also very difficult to improve on.
Agreed that a back can improve receiving skills.

Visions is part of that natural instincts portion of a guy's makeup that is singular to him and not really translatable.

Vision for Emmitt Smith was what made him a Hall of Famer.

Hey why worry about a team that did so poorly last year? It’s not like we swept them amidst a horrible… season…

I am not worried. I am annoyed. Alwayed hated the Giants in part for their arrogance. But I am blown away by how many in the national media and NY media are crowning a 4-13 team, it doesn't stop.

Didn't you see the same thing 2 years ago with the Jets when Aaron Rodgers came to town and then we got 8 or 9 of their games in primetime? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

New York fans are always frontrunners.

I know Yankees fans even when they were a losing club that thought with one or two moves they were going back to the World Series.

Agree he's a strong #2, but I don't see JCM as a #1 either. They need one more

I don't think Love will be there at #7.

My guess is we have a choice of Downs and Tate.

Seems that Saquon Barkley has single-handedly changed the outlook of the league on a franchise back.

I absolutely believe RB is a very big need. It’s lesser now with adding a league baseline back in White. That’s probably unfair. White is not just a guy. He’s a quality NFL back but not one that should be asked to carry the load.

Everyone is in such a hurry with Bill. But why? Let’s let the guy develop. See if he can learn some defensive scheme stuff to help him with some vision. It’s a hard skill to take from good to great - borderline impossible. But from bad to mediocre? Very doable. If he can get in the way in pass pro and catch reliably he can be an above the bar back with home run potential.

I want that for him.

Forcing him to carry the load was never a good plan for his development.

We’ve taken a quality step with White. Add Love and all three of our backs fit perfectly.

That’s one hell of a room.

I still think that he will be there

Could Paul be Love and John be Price
If Love is still there at #7 I will be shocked.

Skattebo is no Love.

Harbaugh knows the difference.

With a defense largely in place and a young quarterback the Giants can afford to invest in the RB position in a big way.

I don't recall saying that about the Jets. But yeah I've said the same about the Giants. Arrogant local media. And next to Dallas, I think the national media really really wants them to be good so any little positivity gets blown up with them.

And alas I have too many people in my life who root for the Giants, where I get to hear the hype more than I'd like.
