What's our cap money down to? Yesterday we were around 80M (the most in the NFL) before the recent signings. Anybody know?

On the first day of free agency, we were estimated to have 80 million free space. Yesterday, someone on the thread said we were still at 80 million in space. This morning before the big signings, another person said we had 90 million. At the rate it's been going, I'd bet we have about 110 million in free space now.

Agree, he seems untradeable right now unless they renegotiated his contract before doing it.

He’s untradeable WITHOUT a new contract. I would imagine whoever may want him, would want more than a single year on the books

Yesterday I said we had 80 million based on something I read on the web from a reasonable source. ESPN maybe? I can't remember who stated that. Currently I am seeing 62M. Still the most in the NFL. Not sure when the link below was updated. I think we are in great shape!

Here's another thing that a lot of people are not talking about, maybe AP stuffed the bed with cash from last year for this year. Vision or just dumb luck? Our cap management seems to be excellent, so far. Very important in todays NFL.

What do you mean? With the enormous contract they just gave him he’s beyond untradeable. That signing bonus accelerating all to 2026 on their cap would capsize them lol

I’d prefer Goedurt in that role and I’ve been advocating for 2 TE signings all along. Goedurt is a really good all-around TE. A true Y. Some injury concerns but almost as good a blocker as Bates and a real redzone threat. Let’s Chig be the move piece and Bates be the heavy formation guy with Goedurt. Could still get tons of snaps for all of them in this new heavy offense and really abuse PA passing to the TE’s

Njoku would be fine for this as well, I just think his game will age more poorly and he’s not as good of a blocker

Not a trade — Vegas backing out of the deal bc of the Crosby situation. They haven’t (or at least hadn’t) actually inked him yet. The contract going to hurt w $30m less cap space than they thought they’d have

Funny I was just looking at Okonwo's size and he is basically the same height as Jennings and about 20 pounds heavier. But he is FASTER than Jennings. I wonder if they line him up wide at times?

LV needs DL help. Just to rid ourselves of Payne for their 6th round (1st overall, #182) and 7th (3rd overall #219), they could have him.

My guess is that he will be used similar to how DEbo was last year.
-short passes behind the line and let him make lbs miss and gain yards while punishing corners
-clear out lbs and safeties with med runs
-deep outs here and there to keep the Ds honest
-30yds out short passes and let him score


basically a better younger version of Debo.. but cheaper.. i am excited to see what he can do.. but he wont help much in the red zone. If we dont sign another TE... Tate in the draft a a foregone conclusion

Ah, I had been seeing things saying he wasn’t expected back in PHI, even to the point of Njoku being a target for them. But that could be incorrect then. I’m sure the longer he sits in FA not getting what he wants, and the longer they don’t sign a replacement, the more likely a reunion is

You’d call both. First call would be to Vegas to gauge what they’re thinking IMO. In any case, doubt it happens but wouldn’t be surprised if there was some ripple effect from the Crosby renege.

Feels like he’d start the season on PUP anyways, so no need to rush him. Could just keep in touch and see how the recovery goes

Hopefully we’ve signed a real replacement by then, but you never know when you’ll need to pull that card due to injury or lack of outside interest after the Chig signing

Where is this idea that Chig won’t help much in the redzone coming from? He’s almost 6’3”. We’ve had plenty of WR’s shorter than that catching redzone TD’s over the years. He’s not a technician like Reed was or anything but the reason he didn’t score in the redzone much in his career was because he played for a bottom of the barrel offense with bottom of the barrel QB’s his entire career. 6’3” and strong is plenty of size to be useful in the end zone. He’s definitely a YAC specialist but that’s not all he’s good for. Jayden’s timing and ball placement is going to be something he’s never seen before.

Now like I said I’d still like another TE addition. But because I want a true versatile Y. That’s the main issue with Chig in the redzone, lining him up next to a tackle is wasting him.

A few more cost effective signings-depth- we are set up in the draft for flexibility. After the draft I expect them to make low cap hit contracts on vets who have not been signed and want to play the season.
