He lined up inside as a 3 tech on passing downs for the Chiefs and also saw snaps as a 5 tech and 7 tech. So very versatile. Can see him playing as 5 tech DE in base and moving inside as a 3 tech in nickel.

I'd love to but wonder how that contract works, how much does Washington absorb and the other team? If its a straight up take over his full salary, he doesn't seem tradeable but I am not sure if that's the case.

Agree, he seems untradeable right now unless they renegotiated his contract before doing it.

Hearing Cross took a hometown discount to sign in Washington but made Peters promise him he would get rid of Payne.

We could retain some of his money if we did move Payne. Lower the burden on the new team (who presumably will also want to extend him).
