It would beyond cool. Securing him would be bigger IMO than any players they can sign in FA. game changer. But feels too good to be true.Be super cool if we could bring this across the finish line with Flores as DC.

Flores already has a DC job. It's not impossible that getting the DC DC job could be attractive for an unexpected reason.
The team was so bad this year that the defense is bound to be better next year. Also, the team was partially so bad because it lost its top four defensive ends, top two corners, and its top safety for pretty much the entire year. Given the expectation that there should be a better roster AND given the understanding that the D was significantly better (they improved from awful to bad once Quinn took over play calling and you might even make an argument for below average despite all the guys still shelved with injuries) that the new DC is bound to look great. Thus, even though it feels contradictory, DC could be a good springboard for a DC.
Technically he's unemployedFlores already has a DC job.

But the Vikings want him back. So fairly irrelevant technicalityTechnically he's unemployed
Not just talking about Flores.Flores already has a DC job.

As I mentioned above - 1) just in case there is a better opportunity (I’d be SHOCKED if he views this as a better opportunity) and 2) networking. Then why is he out there interviewing for it?
If he was dead set on not making a lateral move, why open the door? I'm not even suggesting that we would be the destination, but I also think there's some level of smoke that he would be ok being a DC somewhere other than Minnesota in 2026.

Do you know that you’re responding to me in response to someone saying that taking a DC job could be a stepping stone?so we're saying the same thing....
it's not irrelevant that Minnesota has said they want him back, he's clearly willing to listen.... can't hurt to ask him and see what he thinks a 'better opportunity' may be.

It’s totally irrelevant to the point I was making.
Up until he started taking interviews for coordinator positions maybe but your theory is just a theory. But the Vikings want him back. So fairly irrelevant technicality
"The way that we live is not for everybody, okay? Because we're gonna run and put our bodies on people in a violent manner. And so, we're gonna get that play style right first, right?“ Joe Whitt jr.
He did say put bodies on people, but not wrap them up and tackle them. Guess he wasn’t wrong

He's not Jay Gruden...Gannon would be a good get but can serve as a “threat” to Quinn.
