Bobby Wagner joining Ray Lewis and London Fletcher in the 2000 tackle club is great. Those are legendary names.

Wagner is a Hall of Famer for sure. (Maybe Fletcher should be too, but that’s another topic).

I know we want to get younger and faster, but I’d probably bring him back next year. He finished as one of the top five tacklers in the league, he’s proven to be durable, and you could hardly have a better green dot guy.

DQ did a better job masking him in coverage as any DC worth their salt would do. Fundamental issue is he just doesn’t fit well with Luvu given Luvu’s own coverage deficiencies

Josh Johnson’s story is interesting. It’s worth watching his postgame presser if you haven’t seen it. It’s hard not to be happy for somebody so humble and grateful.

Here he is almost 40 years old, fighting to stay on the roster bubble of pro football all this time, barely doing so by playing for the UFL, the XFL, and 14 different NFL teams. Just a man chasing a dream.

All that and JJ has won exactly two NFL games: One for the Washington Redskins seven years ago, and this one for the Commanders today. It’s a cool story.

Were hours after the game now and I am still frustrated we won. I think it hurts our draft options and our potential trade partners. Moving up would have been huge for us, I think.

It’s not the end of the world, but Sirianni conceding the bye agitated me.

Further, this win doesn’t mean a thing in my opinion, besides lost draft position. We can say it shows that the team still plays for Quinn, but being honest, I never doubted that. I know some did. I didn’t. They also play for themselves given over half of them are likely in a roster competition on some team next year to even be in the League. Some won’t be in the League at all.

We may have a new DC, OC.

I know there are things we can point to and make this feel better. But I just don’t see any real positive to winning here from a FAN perspective.

I want to emphasize that part. If you disagree with me here, I get it. But please keep in mind the perspective. Of course the coaches and team wanted to win. As they should.

I know there are things we can point to and make this feel better. But I just don’t see any real positive to winning here from a FAN perspective.

This is exactly what I can't comprehend when fans want to win meaningless games.
I liken it to what the niners did giving up a 3rd round pick to rent chase young from us for a playoff run even though everybody knew he was going to be a free agent after the season.
That was fine because they both had the draft capital and they were trying to win the superbowl but if we did that this year just before the trade deadline there isn't a fan alive (even the ones who want to win meaningless games) that wouldn't have freaked out about that.

If your ok with losing draft capital in order to win games in a lost season then what's the difference?

It’s weird to me that this win is the thing that made so many of you as miserable as I’ve been all year because of the losing.

This final loss would've been the cumulative payoff for all of those previous losses. Winning this game was like making every mortgage payment for 29 years and 11 months, then not making the final one and letting the house get foreclosed on.

I can't really disagree with you, but I would put Ed Rubbert and Anthony Allen in their own wing of the Pantheon. In my mind's eye I can still see Rubbert uncork that 88 yard bomb to Allen against the Cardinals. It was one of the most ecstatic moments my then-15 year old self had experienced...

With the 2025 season complete, we can now begin looking toward the 2026 season. While most of the schedule is complete, Sunday's results bring clarity. In addition to facing NFC East opponents six times, the Commanders will have four games against the NFC West and four games against the AFC South.

What really burns me up about today is how arrogantly Sirianni just decided to throw this game away. Not even worried about a chance for the two seed. I really hope they’re one and done because of it too. They have to face a very tough San Fran team who can easily beat them, instead of a relatively breezy game against what’s left of the Packers roster. If that happens, I’ll feel a lot less sour about picking seven instead of five.

So he could have played the 9-7-1 Packers who have lost their last four in row, but because of his arrogance Sirianni has to play the 12-5 49ers instead. Seems fair.

You’re not wrong at all, and I hope it bites them big time. But the numbers Howie/Sirianni are looking at say that 18/20 teams in the last 10 Super Bowls had a rest week. Only two teams played their starters straight through and won.

Not saying I agree with the choice but that’s their thinking. Clearly you can’t win a SB if you don’t think you can beat anyone in your conference anyways (again, not that I agree).

Looks like a second year in a row with a tough schedule. The NFCW is hardcore and the AFCS was pretty good this year anyway. Maybe Jax and Indy are flukes but they looked legit, Indy before the injuries piled up anyway.

I see probably 7-10 wins depending on what goes on this off-season. But I'm going with the lower end of that. Just gotta hope we get the Texans early in the year and the Colts late. Also game 1-2 vs Cincinnati would be perfect too

He almost won a 3rd one, which was that game in 2018 on a Saturday against the Titans.

In that game, Adrian Peterson tried to singlehandedly put the team on his back and carry us to victory against a favored Titans team. He came close but Josh Johnson threw a game sealing INT in the 4th quarter

I want to play the Colts late because by then DJ will be out injured. Bengals usually lose their first 2 also and the Texans seem to start slow and become a beast later in the year.
