Well, Penix may turn out to be a starting quarterback in the NFL but the owner’s insistence on drafting him AFTER giving Cousins an $184M contract is an example of why like the Jets the Falcons never win anything.

Effort is a big part of the equation, and tough to maintain in a lost season, true. They need to work on the other parts of the equation starting right now.

One thing I’ll say for DQ is his team cares about the game and each other. There are questions about the team, but heart isn’t one of them.

I’m good with Miller as a rotational pass rusher, he’s still got some juice and locker room/practice field value as well. He just can’t be THE answer to what we’re doing at EDGE. He needs to be a situational player

I really do not like the optics of the QB’s mom saying anything at all about Kliff’s return before it’s made official, after recent media rumors had him clashing with the GM or HC. It doesn’t matter if that was false reporting or not, you’re just handing those ESPN idiots an easy narrative that the QB got what he wanted over what the FO wanted, or whatever they end up reporting. Doesn’t matter if it’s true, it’s an unnecessary own goal and she needs to be smarter.

God forbid she’s actually trying to exert leverage by posting that publicly while not knowing the actual outcome, but I doubt it. That would be worst case scenario though.

He was forced into that this year. I think the goal was for him to play 30ish% of the snaps. I'd be fine with him coming back. He'll also be an invaluable resource for David Bailey...

Sure makes it feel like Kliff is staying. If there are any discrepancies between AP, DQ and Kliffy, they better have it all straightened out now!
I'd guess promising him a WR, RB and TE...they best study up and plan to attack FA hard

I'd be even more surprised if he's let go. I don't think he's going for the HC opportunities, they're all terrible organizations

Yes. Atlanta's defense was really good. But they hit on their draft picks on that side of the ball too. I would definitely take Ulbrich though.

All very possibly/likely true. I still don’t want the QB’s mom making the “announcement”, knowing her platform, ever. It was clearly a targeted post. It’s not normal to specifically shout out “JD5/KK year 3” immediately after the final game of the season outside of the context of those reports. It just creates room for your enemies to attack you. Just don’t do it. Be smarter than them.
