Man up Washington fans

I actually wasn't expecting anything near last seasons performance. Last season wasn't a fluke, but dam near impossible to reproduce with strength of schedule, and lots of film to study on us. Even if completely healthy, it would be tough going IMO. No, I didn't expect it to go this far south, but the injuries are the kill shot. It wasn't ever going to kill my long term hopes, weather we made the playoff's or not this season.... we're building. Mid second season, and all the hurdles we've faced this season is way too soon for me to think about a head coaching change. Dc... that's another story. It's really about the long game, not instant gratification, which we got last season with pure magical run.

Unfortunately my disdain for football goes beyond just this bad season and it took this train wreck of a year for me to fully realize it.

Im getting tired of it all from us being lousy to the nfl product in general being lousy and now grossly over commercialized.

If there was a tipping point (im not really sure there was) it would be the fact that i had to get youtubetv at 90 bucks a month so that i had the privilege of paying another 500 for nfl sunday ticket and still had to get amazon, netflix and peacock and depsite the literally thousands of dollars ive spent this year alone i haven't been able to watch monday night football 2 weeks in a row because two different billionaire companies cant decide who gets the majority of my money.

At this point I'm perusing chat sites and watching brief parts of a couple games strictly out of habit and the fact that its what ive done my whole life but the truth is i dont really enjoy football anymore.

Aww man, this post saddens me and not because I don’t 100% understand. This is not the time to let yourself feel beaten down brother. Yes - the NFL is finding innovative new ways to gouge its fanbase. You aren’t wrong on that. But this franchise will be one of the best over the next decade. I really feel it’s coming. This season is a painful outlier we have to stomach.

You’ve made it through so many tougher times - I hope you will come to ie to hang in. You have a lot to offer as a fan, I have seen it

Thats the part that has me thinking it goes beyond this year.

I was around for zorn, spurrier, rivera etc.

This is nothing new, 2013 was easily as crushing as this year and my fandom never once wavered, i bled burgundy and gold and nothing would ever change that, it'd be etched on my gravestone.

who knows maybe im just going through a phase, honestly i think the name change was an ice pick through my heart that ive spent the last 5 years trying to heal from and nothing thats going on right now that i mentioned in my previous post is helping.

Thx for the kind words, its nice to hear.

Beyond that, cash grabs like Thursday Night Football and international games that make the product worse, increase the risk of injury and turn everything into a circus. I'm sick of having to keep track of when the hell the team is actually playing every week. To add to your point about streaming services, my cousin sang the National Anthem on Monday Night at Lambeau and I missed it because YoutubeTV and Disney are so busy having a pissing contest I didn't realize I had to search for another platform to watch the game until it was too late. F**k that. Then there's terrible officiating, stupid constant rule changes, extremely arbitrary and hypocritical enforcement of rules on and off the field. My tipping point was something else which I don't need to talk about here but I was happily done two years ago, and I'm 99% done now.

I'll check in next year. But I'm out. Call it whatever you want.

I’m not going anywhere. But I hope Kliff is. I did not like the hire from the beginning and Dan might be on his early out phase, but that is for another thread.

I watch the team whether I’m yelling during a competitive season or embracing the suck while laughing at the tv this year.

Like some of the others have said, I won’t let them ruin my life. Having the volume down or off helps during seasons like this.

I just got an email from them saying if i fill out a form i can get 20 bucks back for the inconvenience of it all.

All i can do is laugh at this point.

Talk about delusional to the reality of what the real problem is.

I notice when I watch the Red Zone there aren't nearly as many games, especially the late window. That is obviously because of all the games they put at other times as you said. We never seem to get that big 4:30 game anymore. In the day it was Niners/Cowboys. Now it's Cards/Seahawks.

That is why I refused to pay for Sunday ticket and red zone this year. I realized it last year. I was paying 400 or so dollars for maybe 2-3 games. The rest was just shit. If I need to I can find a streaming site for the games I don't get.

Here's what I'd love to see again in the NFL....
1. Just a one hour pre game show of football guys that knows what they're talking about. Get rid of the clown show idiots that we have to listen to for two hours before kickoff
2. Football games at 1pm and 4:30 pm eastern on one of the networks
3. Sunday and Monday night football with premium match-ups
4. Trash Thursday night games and overseas games
5. Let defensive players tackle the QB again
6. I might catch some shit for this, but can we do away with online betting??? Just feels like it interferes with the integrity of the game.......besides, its addictive and causes a lot of heartache
7. Basically I want the 70s and 80s NFL back. When it was all about the game and the warriors on the field. Today its one stupid drama after the other, fueled by the stupid media and social media platforms. Feels like the game has lost its substance

I know this really has nothing to do about Washington fans manning up, but just kinda keeping up with the flow of the last few posts

^^^Pretty good list.
Maybe add:
Ease up on the pass interference calls
At least let defenders hit the QB if not tackle them
No preferential treatment to Mahomes and the Chiefs
Scrutinize refs more
Stop letting Philly false start when tush pushing

With the additional game and lessening of the preseason I'd think about adding an 8th round to the draft

And, give the Commanders a 3 point handicap to begin each game :eagerness:

With this defense nothing less than a 14 point head start.....at least make it competitive 😂😂

The main thing is a Super Bowl and even in the offseason I felt like next year is our SB season. I felt like that will be Jaydens best season since he has 2 years under her belt, the roster should be built up by then, and our schedule will be a lot easier than this year. I felt like the schedule this year might keep us from winning a ton of games even if we were better than last season. Just like we fell off this season, I could see us taking a massive jump forward again next season when everyone thought that we would be down and out
