While that is pretty awesome, I can’t imagine what the costs associated with something like that would be. If the HOG want to spend it I’m all for it. You can see how it could be very useful for a year round stadium.
I doubt it's that cool. Because that is just too cool for school.

But if Harris wants a grass field AND a translucent roof, I think they have to be somewhat creative about how to make that happen. Also, I think they will be really careful about having non-football events on an indoor grass field.

I am predicting something fancy. What? I don't know.

I’m excited to see the final design. Hopefully they don’t take too long about deciding on an architect and then put the plans out to the public.
Me too. But I think it's going to take a while.

Selecting the architect is going to be a huge, expensive decision so I imagine they're not going to rush that process. And then it's going to take time to go through drafts and what not.

Maybe they can expedite by just buying the plans from an existing stadium :p

I think they already have an architect in mind, they're probably just flushing out a second and third option

My vote is HKS.

I hate to say it, but AT&T is a great place to see a game. The design is awesome. Sunday was my 3rd time in there for Skins-Cowboys and frankly I get jealous every time I we go. My son was just looking around and said to me: "Dad I can't wait until we get a Stadium like this and can fly up for a visit with (my grandparents) and see a game." Jerry gets a lot of flack from his fanbase., but he did Jerry's World and the gameday experience, right.

I have heard others say the same. I’m very excited to see how this ends up. Will be in a different class than then our current one. I expect to have one of the top stadiums in the NFL when it’s done, if not the top. A destination in the heart of the Nation’s Capital we Dan all be proud of.

I wouldn't rule out building the stadium with 2 different surfaces and the ability to remove/hide the grass field for non-athletic events.

See:
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Allegiant Stadium
Santiago Bernabeu

If it's like AT&T hopefully it doesn't have the sun shining through problem that was so apparent on Sunday. Is that also the stadium where the big screen gets hit during punts? Or have they fixed it? Tress seemed to do okay.

From the outside Allegiant stadium looks like a tire cover for a jeep

Don't worry gents, soon, we will have one of the best stadiums in the world...if not THE BEST!

I'm sure ownership is thinking much larger than just NFL games. Concerts, Soccer, Olympics, etc. The stadium will be a mecca!

That is a definite flaw when it comes to on the filed play - especially for the late afternoon games. For the fans it keeps the stadium bright with an open air feel even when it is covered. I believe they designed it to harken back to old Texas Stadium.

Regardless, not ideal for play on the field.

I guess you noticed that Arthur Blank had the Benz built for AUFC, but it works well for American Football as well. I love the stadium here. (Actually, AUFC gets more support than the Falcons ever will...the Championship they won in their 2nd year of existence is the only soccer game I've ever watched in my life!)

I’ve been to the Cowboys stadium a few times (including the Colt McCoy game!!). I agree the sun light coming in through those windows is hideous. Also, can’t stand the scoreboard. It’s waaaaay too big. When the players on the scoreboard are twice the size of the players on the field from your perspective it’s very distracting. Other than that it’s great. I’d love to have something like it, minus those two things.

Tons of windows/natural light in the Vikings stadium and in SoFi...perhaps it's an orientation issue? Is Jerry World oriented E-W instead of N-S?

Not totally, but close enough. The DFW area is flat as a pancake with minimal flora. The result is your average sunset has a supernova effect. Nice in many ways, but you better have good sunglasses if you are driving at the time of day.

When my son was the equipment manager for the Hurricanes he went to a bowl game at Dallas Stadium. He filled up a water bottle with urine and poured it all over the star in the center of the field

You raised him well. (y)
