Official Game Thread - Week 6 MNF - Bears @ Commanders

This team is bad. The defense is badly coached. Whittless is so clearly in over his head its almost comical. There is a grand total of 1 decent receiver on this team. And it isnt the malcontent that demanded a contract and promptly got hurt. The o line was supposed to be upgraded and has been worse. Depending on a rookie rb who is showing off his fumblitis. JD has clearly been figured out by opponents. He isnt remotely as dynamic anymore. Kicker is simply worthless. I could go on. Significant changes need to happen and happen fast to even be competitive for a wildcard spot this year. What a disaster.

Roster needs to be purged again after this season. Old, slow, and lacking hunger in too many important spots. We need a whole alignment shift in terms of drive on the defensive side of the ball. Whitt talks a good game but we come out flat and lame constantly on D (and truthfully too often on O). Quinn has a lot to look at, but there’s a lot of games left to get things moving in the right direction.

All that big picture stuff is important for the future, but right now if Daniels isn’t elite, we lose. It’s that simple. This is a 5-win team without Daniels. Maybe. We aren’t there yet but he can elevate us when all goes well.

I would say this is not a Super Bowl team but there is no dominant team in the league this year. We still have a chance because we have the best QB in the conference.

I think we try to patch what we can now. Holmes/Smith/Martin is not a competent combo. They need to do what they can to add a rental DE that is a real starting caliber player. We need to also sign Justin Simmons to the practice squad tomorrow and start getting him ramped up. Savage and Martin are trash.
 
First off, trash those black uniforms. They look good but we literally haven't played one good game in them yet and I also think that it's weird how we keep choosing to wear them against the Bears who also have black uniforms and helmets. That doesn't make sense to me. You should try to look different and separate yourself from your opponent.

The worst part of this loss is because I have to read all of the Bears fans and Commanders/Jayden haters try to flip the narrative on this game like Caleb outplayed Jayden when his numbers were terrible until when Ben Johnson had great play calling with multiple screen passes for big games and then the 5 yard pass to Swift that he took to the house. He had nothing to do with those gains and bears fans were ripping Caleb before that. I was on multiple boards of there's

I think Kiliff got out coached. Bears came out daring us to pass. They focused on stopping the run, consistent 8 man boxes and we ran right in to a wall every time. The longer runs (4-8 yards) that we did have were just sheer want to by the RBs. We had no game plan for beating that stacked box. JD managed to extend multiple drives with his legs when there was nothing there. They also focused heavily on Deebo which should have allowed for others to shine. Kind of game I think that Noah Brown would have shined.
 
Noah Brown has proven to be undependable. A good team would've waived him.
But a desperate team keeps clinging to hope.
 
Hate to harp on the kicking game again but that 3 points missed was huge....but then again I am absolutely positive that the Bears would have scored a touchdown at the end instead of a field goal if they had to. Gaye has missed way to many medium distance field goals.

Beyond that, I’m sure the reality set in that they couldn’t afford to lose this one. High likelihood this team can get healthier and still end up 3-6 or 4-5 by the beginning of November.

Gay should've never made it out of preseason. He showed us then that he didn't have it.

And for all of the competition Quinn likes to brag is the culture around here, there was none for the kicker.

I knew this would happen. Seems like they blitzed every single play, pass or run.

You can't lose the turnover battle 3-0 and expect to win.

I've seen enough of Quan Martin. He missed the tackle on Swift which changed the game. Other than the forced fumble he just never makes plays.

Just a gut wrenching loss.

It's called regressing to the mean.

Last season was fun but reality is that they played over their heads and got alot of lucky breaks. It was always going to be hard to duplicate last season's results.
