Well the team finally did something in Free Agency, and of course it's a gamble move. Buy medium with hopes of selling sky high.

Michael Soraka from the White Sox for 9 million. He went 0-10 as a starter with a dreadful ERA, but was suddenly lights out when moved to a Relief role. Apparently the White Sox controlled his pitch mix as a starter and didn't care about that for bullpen guys. So the Nationals are signing him as a starter and must be hoping the White Sox were just comically mismanaged and he's still got some juice over 6 innings.

Daylin Lile won both Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month in September. Him and Wood are the only 2 cornerstones they have on the roster.

I'm not either, but he's not a cornerstone as he still has to develop.

I want to rebuild around the outfield still, everyone else is fungible. I think our pitching would work better if Abrams wasn't around and Garcia wasn't at 2nd full-time. I don't know what we could get in a trade of Abrams, but anything is better than consistently Bottom 5% defense at SS with average hitting.

Would not surprise me if he got dealt this offseason. He doesn't seem serious about his craft.

Supposedly Crews calling out the lockerroom was in large part calling out Abrams. He's a negative influence with how little he cares. 2024 the team sent him down to AAA because he completely stopped caring. 2025 we have rumors of similar.

Difference in OPS between 1st half of season and 2nd half of season for Abrams:

• 2024 2nd half is worse by -.245
• 2025 2nd half is worse by -.203

If the team wants to be competitive in September/October, then Abrams can't be part of it.
