Hopefully we see some Sinnott leaking out down the seam as well because Mariota needs to attack the middle of the field if we want room for the running game

Sinnott had a great game last week especially in the blocking game
 
Late third rounders bust more often than succeed. Luke had been fine considering where they took him
 
yeah it does feel like Luke has arrived which is awesome! Can envision him having some clutch catches in those big games we’re going to have in the future.
 
Its pretty obvious which team got chewed out all week and which team got patted on the back all week.
The falcons are flying around the field and we look stuck in mud.
 
Mariota needs to run some. He looks more ordinary when hes no threat with his legs
 
Kinlaw's name called for first time today. Run D finally makes a stop up the middle.
 
Bad scheming when you end up with Wagner trying to cover a quick/fast TE out wide.
 
Though it is cute how many times Dan Quinn says ball is life as one of the team credos. It looks a bit comical. I’d stopping saying it until they can actually create one

He may suck, but you’re mis-using “nepotism”. He’s not a nepo hire. He worked his way up through the league and didn’t even work with Quinn until recent years, he developed mostly as a coach in GB under McCarthy. McCarthy obviously suggested him to Quinn when building a staff in Dallas, as is normal with these business relationships, and then they worked together to build a good defense and (at times) really good secondary. Quinn then thought enough of him to bring him here as DC (many people said bc he couldn’t get Al Harris from Jerry at the time). You never know if an assistant has what it takes to be promoted to a coordinator until they succeed or fail. If he fails it won’t be because he was a nepo hire who didn’t deserve his shot. He started as an assistant in the college game and laboriously worked his way up through the league, coaching both sides of the ball at different times, and didn’t settle into a long term position until finally working under McCarthy (who hired him without having worked with him).

Just annoys me when people use that term incorrectly, because it IS a huge problem in the NFL (and everywhere). But not in this case. He didn’t get an undeserved opportunity due to his name or family connections. He worked in the league a really long time as an assistant, developed a lot of great talent, impressed the right people, and then someone he worked with thought he earned the opportunity to run the whole operation. Like most people who ever get promoted.

He’s not like the 4th Kubiak son who got hired in the first place due to his name, then as a young guy speed ran QC > TE coach > Pass Game Coordinator > OC in 5 years or whatever. That’s nepotism and it permeates the league. Some of them turn out to be talented but only got their start due to nepotism, some are so bad they never deserved a shot at all.

Again, that’s not Whitt even if he sucks.
 
Why is it that we keep hiring defensive head coaches and despite that our defenses have still sucked?

Are we cursed or something.
