Official Game Thread - Week 4 - Commanders @ Falcons

^. Lol @ Mary but isn’t that your standard gameday state of mind? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Surprised how confident Logan and Grant are about this game.

For me it feels like a complete wildcard.

I find myself doing it also, but i think it all comes back to Mariota, and how effective the run game has been in 2/3 of our games this year. That being said, the Falcons haven't exactly been giving up major yards on the ground... but I admittedly have not watched them so not sure if that's more due to game flow, or what.

Recency bias likely is a big factor after they laid an egg against of all teams the Panthers, but they put up a fight against the Bucs and the Vikings. I'm leaning a little more toward your thinking that this game is not at all a gimme, but I still do think we have the better team on field TODAY even with the injuries. I also will admit that Bijan has the ability to take the game over himself and he's not been able to really get going yet this year... I believe that's more O-Line related, but again they may just flat out not be using him? It's odd.

I believe that this game will come down to a dominant running game on offense but more importantly the talk is that Penix had open guys down field last game but checked it down too early before they came open.

I believe that he will be intent on holding onto the ball this week to allow things to develop down field. This will work against them this week as this will allow time for our pressure to get home, including blitzes to rattle him.

He will quickly get dejected after what already happened last week and the crowd will get tight and uneasy. Strips and picks will be available if we can take advantage

That's not really how he's operated for years, including his last 2 years in college. He's all about quick decisions and getting the ball out before the pocket can get mucky.

If he's not taking deep shots, odds are the scheme is getting them open too late. If they want those shots, they have to build it into the play more. Like play action boot etc.

It's too early to be this beat up.

The injuries are creating opportunities for quite a number of players. Even Savage will probably be thrown into the fire, hopefully it won't look more like thrown to the wolves.

We need that revamped OL to freaking kick arse and the D be able to control the line and produce pressure.
We were so lucky last year with injuries, it was bound to regress to the mean.

The only player who is injured that I am just like, "yeah, who didn't see that coming" is Noah Brown. He's been hurt his entire career and then had a kindey injury and then was carted off the field in the off-season.

Little birdie aka “reliable source” just told me that the offense is better with Marcus. 40 burger incoming

Dr Evil Whatever GIF

I think this team embraces, emphasisis and the players have really bought into making an impact on teams. I think they will play a huge part in every game this year. I won't be going to the kitchen during kickoffs and punts. Lol

Good day fellow Commandskins fans! This might be a tough one to win on the road. D-line and Mariota need big games today! Hail!

JD still learning....Mariotta has been there and done that but is not close to JD physically. My concern has always been injuries with JD slowing his learning curve especially long term injuries or an injury that slows him for the rest of his career. He stays healthy and continues to gain experience he will be special for a long time.
