Official Game Thread - Week 3 - Raiders @ Commanders

I, for the record, am petrified.

I think this game inadvertently redirects our season. They’ll run the ball to protect Mariota and the defense in a game where they don’t have their franchise QB available, it’ll work really well and they’ll realize it’s a secret super power this roster has even without Jayden’s legs inflating the numbers, and it’ll rewire their brains a bit to be more balanced and protective when Jayden comes back, imo. And we’ll benefit the rest of the season. We’ll look back and see Jayden’s injury scare as a huge silver lining that saved this offensive staff from themselves.

Given Quinn comments on how they want to make sure JD is 100% before playing again (absolutely the right thing to do), I'd be shocked if he played next week, and I would not be surprised at all if he was out until the Bears game on 10/13.

I think the run game will struggle again today, and with so many issues on offense it will likely take defensive help to get into the endzone. I can see Amos picking off Geno to set up a short TD that proves the difference in what otherwise could be (uh oh) a FG battle.

Commanders 13-9.

Coleman inactive after practicing, coaches decision…what the hell is that about

I just want to see us be way more aggressive on offense. Go for it on 4th and manageable, dial up some quick hitters. This team has looked so anemic on offense the first two games. Really terrible to watch. Let's get that swagger back, Kliff!

Sounds like they have more trust in Chris Paul... maybe it's going to be a run heavy game and they trust that more with Paul than they do Coleman?

Yep that definitely foretells a run heavy gameplan

Don't love this from Josh, I watched that. Same dude who before the GB game, said it would be a great game. So he might be a reverse jinx. Assuming he said it too late for this to turn into bulletin board material for Vegas,

Rewatching with All 22, at least judging by the GB game, Paul looked a lot better than Coleman.

Man what is up with the oline? We have a lot of investment in that to get for terrible results, so far anyway. I really thought this was going to be a strength moving forward. I actually feel better about the D line and I never thought I would say that.

Missing Cosmi and they need time to gel. Offensive line needs continuity.

A lot of thoughts including from some of us here that it would take some time for the O line to gel early and they might struggle. But yeah its been even worse than expected. But they did play two killer D lines -- maybe the best two in the league to start the season.

Sure, but Coleman is supposed to be one of those building blocks who is gaining chemistry and continuity. Instead they’re benching him (at least for this week)

After two weeks they’re benching both their chosen starting OG’s while waiting for Cosmi to get healthy. That’s bizarre. They knew they were starting with a murder’s row in terms of DL opponents
