The Jayden Daniels Tracker

Great monologue from Brady here, worth the watch. About how his development wasn’t just studying the offensive gameplan and watching film with offensive coaches, it was individual time learning coverages with defensive experts, learning defensive player tendencies for that week’s opponents in individual meetings with personnel evaluators, etc. And talking about how much franchises aren’t doing this for their QB’s, in fact most don’t even know that they should.

And Kurt Warner confirms this by remarking with wonder that he never would have even dreamed of having these tools at his disposal in the league, wouldn’t have thought it was an option.

Most teams are not doing this…are we? I wish I could Invisible Man my way through our facility and see exactly what Jayden’s weeks look like and who he spends time with in film and white board sessions. We know he studies like a demon, but what structure is he developing within? Is it the rare Brady path or the more common path? Quinn, AP & co. talk a good game about developing Jayden but I wish we could know what the plan in place actually is compared to other teams around the league. I hope we’re one of the exceptions that Brady describes and that we’re doing right by Jayden

If Daniels had a serious injury, it would have leaked right? I mean, it's possible he misses weeks, but season ending would be hard to hide... at least that's my hopeful thinking.

If we get a Thursday night game week 2 next year we should just forfeit.
What a disaster.
My hopes would be to take Thursday as a lesson and practice and be better prepared. If things continue I'd expect staff improvements as well as the inevitable personnel improvements.

I mean, I don’t know how much practice and preparation would have helped.

They chewed up the Lions and the Lions have a top 3 OL in the league and fantastic skill position players. Green Bay might just be that good right now.

Maybe if Conerly turns a corner at some point during the season.

I don't know if this is true, but I really hope it is!

It’s hard to know, but so far no serious journalist has reported it. Just a radio host who said he “heard” Daniels was getting an MRI. No source or anything else, just that he heard it. Apparently, he is the only one to hear something from a front office that is notoriously quiet and doesn’t leak anything. So take that for what it’s worth. A few other reports reference the same radio host. I tend to agree that if there was something bigger, it would be all over the news and from more reputable people. Perhaps we hear something tomorrow during pregame shows. But my suspicion is that if there is anything to say, it will be said next week by the team. Practice reports will be Wednesday. I don’t know if coaches have to hold a press conference on Mondays after a Thursday game or not. But until the team says something, there’s really nothing to know.

I'd much rather have it be a knee sprain than any kind of ligament tear. Heck, it's even better than a high ankle sprain.

Get healthy, and get back on the field when ready. No need to risk it.
Sure, living is always better than dying. 🤣

I am blown away this place isn’t exploding with emotional breakdowns right now.

So I guess you rest him and see how it’s healing? If any doubt go with Mariotta Sunday.

With how well Mariota played in his stead last season, rest Daniels until knee isnt preventing him from moving around like he needs to. I'd rather have him out for 2-3 games than an increasingly hobbling QB for the rest of the season. If we can split the next 2 and he is making good progress with recovery, we are in decent shape moving forward.

i imagine he'll miss 2 games, 3 at max... back for Chargers or Bears...
I think Mariota can handle Raiders and ATL... not sure about Chargers on the road.

Really hoping it's not serious, or our season is cooked before it begins.

We do play an AFC team this week, so if we do need to sit him, this is the best case scenario. Just don't rush him out there if he's at risk of further injury. If we can avoid crippling our franchise QB, that'd be great.

I think it goes without saying to not rush him out there and risk worsening the issue.

That said, this is an incredibly depressing topic of discussion, on the heels of an absolute beatdown. Given the protection or lack thereof, this feels like merely like chapter 2 in the chronicles of trying to keep this QB healthy.

He has to start limiting the contact he takes. He is taking far too many hits. Lets not forget he missed time last year as well. Time to start throwing the ball away some.
