The truth is the Packers are really good. Their defense is dominant and so far they have shut down two of the most explosive offenses from last year. They have the talent and have the game plan and have excited to near perfection through 2 games.
I like watching Thursday night football, but I hate seeing my team play. The worst offensive performance of the regular season last year was on Thursday night against the Eagles. I wonder if Quinn and more specifically Kingsbury don’t know how to prepare in that short timeframe. I thought the team looked lethargic early in the game and it only slightly got better. Early on a WR screen, the DB beat both Brown and Ertz to make the tackle behind the line. It just didn’t look like those two wanted to block. The DB certainly wanted it more. It felt like every replay they showed, no WR were getting open. Not until late in the game when the Packers played prevent.
And while I’m on the coaching, they have to give Connerly help. He was abused last night and leaving him 1 on 1 with Parsons was a failure by the coaches. Connerly got away with a bunch of holds and the Packers still were beating him. If he is going to get to where he needs to be, they have to give him some help.
Lastly, kickers suck. Those guys should just go play soccer. Just go for it every 4th down. Quinn messed up at the end of the half kicking. It didn’t hurt him, but it was a mistake and as others said above, it went away from his aggressive mentality from last year.
