Random Commanders Thoughts

He feels like a sneak late rounder that will be getting a chance to shine

I have both CRod + JCM in a dynasty league and was honestly thinking I’d start the season week 1 with CRod unless we get a surprise announcement about the starter before kickoff

I feel like all 4 RBs are a FF nightmare.

Unless Bill absolutely explodes into the scene, Ekeler is the only guy I'd start.

I have Blue on Dallas, but I feel like he's got nobody around him on the roster.

B. Allen, Blue, Higgins and Pearsail are my long shot reaches that I may have taken slightly early

I don't understand the new fantasy consensus that Ekeler is the guy to own. He won't be close to what you need for rushing attempts to matter. Equal rushing and receiving yards. He had 733 combined last season with 4 combined touchdowns. They do not want to overuse Ekeler, that is clear. They probably do not even want much of an uptick in touches from last season even if he is healthier. They want to save him for deeper into the season to secure/be-in playoffs.

Ekeler averaged just over 9 touches a game. I really doubt that number goes up, it'll probably fall as they want to preserve health. 7-8 touches a game is 4-5 fantasy points a game with a random 10-11 point game from a touchdown.

The non-Ekeler RB's had 277 rushing attempts + 30 receptions last season. For the sake of this, let's say 307 touches happen again in 2025. How are those split up between CRod and Bill? At an even split, that's 153 & 154 touches. Significantly more than Ekeler will get. If we assume either Bill or CRod earns more, so 203 touches for one and 104 touches for the other. How is that one person not worth so much more in fantasy than Ekeler?

Ekeler is the last RB in our backfield you should want in Fantasy. It's either Bill or CRod, we don't know which yet. But one of those guys is going to get a fantasy relevant workload. None are getting 1st round RB in fantasy relevant workload. But Flex/BYE-Week Filler/Matchup Rotation/etc relevant for sure.

MOST leagues have shifted to PPR formats, so even if Ekeler only gets 9 touches, but 6 of them are catches, that's 6 points plus the yards. Every catch is already a carry +1 point, so 50 yards on 6 catches it 11 points. That's going to be a premium value in a league that has very few bell cow backs.

The league I have Ekeler is an 18 team guilitene league and ppr. I also Tyrone Tracy as my other starter. I have Burrow, JJ and Garrett Wilson as my 3 studs. That should carry me to November without having to spend anything.

This is for all the people thinking he was fat and out of shape.

Careful, a lot of AI-generated “coach quotes” have been going around lately. The cadence of that paragraph reads like Chat-GPT, so wouldn’t be surprised if it was fake if you found it on twitter or whatever. If the quote is pulled from an article then nvm.

Skattebo may begin throwing a wrench in that before November. Wishing you a bad first weekend at RB, sorry :)

This is a shameless test of my new linkable signature. #HailYeah!

Edit: Everything but the graphic appeared. I wonder if it's either text or picture? After all these years, I'm still a noob when it comes to sigs

Oh, just you wait RandyHolt and DWinzit. It'll get worse from here.

In a semi-related note, I think my jitters for the upcoming season are similar to the first day of Atthis' pre-sale book launch effort. I don't really know what to expect. I heard that we were sharp in practices, but then heard we were bad in the intrasquad against the Pats, we cancelled the Ravens intrasquad, and then laid an absolute egg during each of the preseason games. Maybe we're playing everything really close to the vest and the starters will come out at full sprint after receiving no preseason live game reps (or almost none,) but while I am really hopeful that we are about to launch... I just don't know.

If he got out of his SF visit without a contract, decent chance he signs with us imo. Peters isn’t the type to offer a contract worth using as leverage for a depth guy like that

Anybody still wish we had hired belichick?
🤣🤣🤣

Greatest coach ever my ass!

Brilliant defensive coordinator for a long time but brady picked that turtle up and put him way up on top of that post.

I think had we hired Belichick, we would have seen the Belichick that the Cleveland Browns experienced.
