I credit the late Jim Irsay with helping force the league get rid of our dastardly demented dickhead Dan. Looked kinda drunk that day IIRC.

I credit Dan Snyder stealing from the league as the forcing function for having him removed from league ownership. It's possible Irsay was the one who was most aggravated about that and pushed the agenda.

Remember, there were all kinds of shady financial stuff which came out, not the least of which Dan took out a $50m line of credit without telling his partners.

I like that Irsay pushed the ball along.

Interesting comment by Quinn that having the Thursday night game week 2 is actually preferable then later in the year. Allows them to prep a bit before the season starts for the Packers before doing their normal week long prep for the Giants.

Also, you're likely to have fewer injuries earlier in the season, and it's a lot easier to play on a short week after 1 game than after 12.

I don’t have a great vibe for Sinnott and McCaffrey heading into Year 2 but I think a healthy Jordan Magee and Newton are going to have good seasons.

When you come in and show a lot of promise like Magee did and then miss the season the news cycle sort of runs by you unless you are a top pick. 5th rounders get lost in the wash as redshirts.

In the case of Newton he had to have two surgeries on his toes and while he played during the season he looked like he was fighting himself out there quite a bit.

So these guys I am optimistic about.

Sinnott and McCaffrey have been healthy and practicing right along but just don’t seem to be able to get on the field and make any plays.

It's a bit disappointing that so many guys from the 2024 class appear to not have developed much in the off-season, but it's nice to see the 2025 class improve over the past month.

The coaches did give some training camp buzz about how some of these guys have improved over the last year and they were just so pleased. I think part of it is the absolute garbage play at QB during the preseason, at least for evaluating anyone who catches the ball. Lets see where we are after a few games with Jayden.

I didn't see an official Week 1 Giants game thread yet so I will ask in here: Do you think a lot of the fanbase is overly worried about the Giants defense in Week 1? I think the Giants defense has the potential to be pretty good later into the season, but I am not sure about right out of the gate. Maybe this is just normal "Week 1 is upon us" jitters and the same feelings would be bubbling regardless of the opponent.

I have a draft tonight. My 18 team guilitene league I picked up Ekeler in the 8th with Bill still on the board. He's the only one of the 3 I'd draft before the 10th round.

Ekeler is underrated. But I got him after drafting both Bill and Rodriguez.
