I hear you, but he had me already with some earlier videos where he looked like a golfer and he's helped my swing.

We played Algonkian today which is a Regional Park. This is a cool course due to the deer. If you zoom in there are a couple of deer in the shade right behind our cart. There is also another deer right behind the head of the guy sitting down.

The second picture is the group in front of us playing through some more deer.

Played the “Gonk” many times back in the day. Played regions there when I was in HS. Senior year I shot 87, one of my worst days of golf. Went back about a month later with a good friend, and his dad, who was Wake Forest golf captain when a highly touted freshman named Arnold Palmer came to Wake.

I just missed an eagle chip on 18, and shot 72. Lost to his dad by one shot. Would’ve walked to states if I’d shot that score a month earlier. That’s golf.

Played Pohick quite a bit back then also. Always saw herds of deer at Pohick when I’d play there mornings.

We're in Myrtle Beach this month and the wife and I will be playing at Indigo Creek today which is on the South side closer to the Murrell's Inlet area.

You should hit the Dead Dog Saloon, in Murrell's Inlet after your round. The seafood is really good. At least it was the last time I ate there.

We were looking for a 19th hole for today and this place looks good enough so thanks! We usually stay up on the 17 bypass so I had no idea that Dead Dog was even there.

Great! I always add the caveat "at least the last time I was there" in case it sucks to whomever I recommend it to. They have a nice view of the water too. I love Myrtle...my buddies and I went on golf trips there every March for over 20 years, until 2020. After Covid, the group quit going. It's a shame, because I love the area. There's a little hole in the wall BBQ place that was fantastic. It's called Little Pigs Bar-B-Q and the pulled pork was insanely good. The portions were huge It's off of 17....the original location...not the one at Surfside. The owner is/was a Redskins fan. He had a pic of Clint Didier on the wall. The hush puppies, onion rings and slaw were very good. The pulled pork is chopped, (Carolina style), not pulled.

I gotta check that one out also. We've been coming here 60 years and it hasn't changed much to me. All the restaurants used to be down in Murrells Inlet which was a pain driving through at dinner time due to traffic. Flo's seafood was one of our favorite restaurants down there but I guess they are no more.

Now that I'm retired, I'm leaving our RV here so that we can come down for a month at a time during the offseason. The campground we're at (Lakewood) stores it for us now.

I think I've been to that place, Skinsfan1311 ... and it was great! When we lived on the island, I was a rep for Revlon/Almay, had stores to service all over, and I usually ate quick lunches, but one day I searched for good BBQ...I think it was that one.

We made it a point to eat there, at least once, each trip. The portions were gargantuan...

Oyster Rock looks fantastic but it's north of North Myrtle so a little too far for me since we're on the south side close to Murrells Inlet. Their pics though have me thinking road trip.

Today we're playing Indigo Creek and then hitting Wicket Tuna for cold ones.

The turtles were drying out after all the rain we had.

This guy was being prehistoric with all the frogs and fish.

This guy was guarding a nest maybe. He was short side on a par three.

Anhinga, drying his wings after diving for lunch.

Close relative to the Cormorant. Anhinga has a straight beak, while cormorants have a small hook at the end of their beaks. Cormorants more common in Florida and Louisiana. They like the warm weather.

Pet peeve: guys who find almost any reason to cancel on you at the last minute. One of my regular golf partners canceled yesterday (no reason given), and the other guy canceled this morning because the course is cart path only. I mean, we are already riding in carts, but you don't want to get in a little exercise walking to your ball?

Guess it's sim golf for me today.

That flat out sucks John especially when your itching to play. I have one reliable friend when it comes to golf, I dont even bother asking others anymore due to the scenario you stated. I fully understand shit happens but no explanation is weak sauce.

That really sucks. We've started walking with our pull carts if it's cart path only. We're walking about the same distance but with my pull cart I'm always moving straight towards my ball, which i like. I used to hate cart paths only but as I've gotten older I've learned to tolerate them better.
