Mutual decision. That sounds like he is definitely done.

If so, I am glad. I got no hate for him personally. And I hear he's a good dude in the locker room. But some of his comments have put me off -- he gets testy with fans on twitter, defiant about his play (I for example like Lattimore owning up to not playing hot, you don't get that humility from Brian). I hated the bullentin board material he gave to the Eagles last year, and did the same for the Lions this off season.

He's also a bit of a hipster fav for dudes I respect like Logan Paulsen and Mark Bullock who like to say he's much better than fans think, and is their best running back -- but lol, I get a bit annoyed by their arguments and I like both especially Logan typically. But I've disagreed with their take on Brian.

And on this board, I argued plenty of times why I'd love to see Brian go and got a little (not much) pushback.

The argument about Brian that I disagreed the most with is the idea that he's a good big back, tough runs, but the poor sap doesn't have breakaway speed. If that was who he truly was, I'd want him on this team. I like good-great power backs. Brian IMO isn't that. Actually ironically his athleticism for his size is actually good. He's a good athlete. But he's a pedestrian power back without breakaway speed. As a power RB, purely as a power guy IMO, he's so so. I think he has underrated hands -- if I had to pick a superpower of his, its not using his size to power runs, but he catches well.

I posted this off season some stills of clear cases of Brian having opportunities for big runs and he just didn't see it. His vision IMO is poor.

Like i said earlier that guys take was not a hot one despite him wanting people to believe he was going out on a limb.

The second it was reported by reputable sources he was being shopped was the second it was obvious he had taken his last snap as a commander.

Little strange that the reports are that we soured on him down the stretch last year and yet we still kept him through the offseason and almost all of training camp.

You'd think they'd have tried to get this done earlier if thats what they wanted to do all along.

Seems neither side is happy, glad it’s a win/win

Brian seems like a good guy. And his story -- recovery from a gun shot wound is remarkable. He doesn't though seem to have much humility about his game or this team -- so I am guessing this whole episode going on now must be jarring to him.

But, I think he's been dissapointing. I hate to say this with Voice_of_Reason lurking :p but Thor actually nailed it about that pick at the time -- just a really average at best back who doesn't do anything remarkably well. I had higher hopes for Brian than Thor.

But for me, the idea that he wasn't that great at what you'd figure a dude that size would major in -- that is, tough physical runs is what disappointed me the most. He had some moments on that front. I don't think he was a bad power runner. But just so so.

Chris Rodriguez I think is who some of Brian's defenders said Brian was. That is, Chris IMO is a good power runner (not great, but at least good). He can grind through tough yards and plays consistently physical. He has that I am not going to be denied style that the good power backs have. Chris though doesn't have breakaway speed -- not explosive, so so hands. But if I wanted 1-2 yards with the game on the line, I'd trust Chris over Brian.

It was a deep and talented RB class, every team thought they’d come away with one. They probably figured they’d be better off waiting for guys to start getting injured (and some teams to not hit the position well in the draft)

Also allows you to make sure you’ve made it through most of the offseason healthy at the position, worst case

Am guessing it was the combination of Croskey-Merritt and Rodriguez looking good in camp. Rodriguez supposedly had a bad camp last year. Those dynamics I gathered need to play out. I hear Felton also is having a good camp.

It will be interesting what if any offers they get for BRob. Maybe a 6th or 7th, maybe a WR or other player similar to him contractually or talent level wise. A bag of peanuts is better than a straight up cut

A player for player might be the best way to get value for him

Whenever they were "out" on BRob, I'm pretty certain many of us were out before then. A power back who consistently gets stuffed on short yardage? No thanks!

One thing about our running back room is that BRob, McNichols, and Rodriguez are basically the same back. BRob may even be the best of the bunch (though I think Rodriguez's stats are a little better.) But being the best of a bunch of JAGs still makes you a slightly above average JAG.

I will say post injury I was quite disappointed with his performance. Ideally, he's a power back and a singles hitter who hits the hole hard. Really, with the way Daniels scared defenses and with how effective the passing game was, Robinson needed to be at least as effective as Alfred Morris. It's really hard to believe the opportunity wasn't there to have Morris like success and if he couldn't pull it off a lot of that is on him even if we grade him on a curve because of the o line.

McNichols is different than Rodriguez and Robinson. He's closer to Ekeler. Pass catching back -- not power.

Rodriguez and Robinson. Both power backs. Rodriguez as to anaylitics was a lot better than Robinson last year. But you never know with small samples.

I think the best way to explain the differences between the two. Rodriguez IMO is a good power rusher -- he is a grinder that can make something out of nothing and is good with short yardage.
Robinson is pedestrian as a short yardage and power runner -- he looks physically like a dude who should be really good on that front, and has had some bright spots but overall he's just ok in short yardage and as a power runner.

If I was defending Robinson or picking him over Rodriguez, it would be the pass catching. Robinson is a fluid pass catcher. Rodriguez is not.

Good breakdown SIP. It still surprises me Kliff didn't use BRob a little more in the passing game

We are in the NFC East we need somebody that can hit the line
